Wells Cargo's gotten rave reviews in many threads across different forums.

I can only tell you about Wells Cargo - no experience with any others.

I'm on my second trailer from them and won't have anything else. If I had to buy another trailer tomorrow I wouldn't even look at anything else. That's how happy I have been for over 25 years with them. They tow like a dream and the little one, I tend to forget is even there....  particularly when empty!

The first one was custom ordered from the factory and everything was done exactly as ordered. I picked it up at the factory and the sales person helped me adjust the trailer braking system in the parking lot. Unfortunately, it was totaled when it was rolled over on I95 by a driver who fell asleep at the wheel...no not me! it did come apart at the roof seams but being rolled over at 55 mph does that somehow...  Oh, btw, it was a 15' box and I had an extra foot in height

My second trailer is a 6x10 cargo trailer bought off the lot 20 years ago. I've hauled it all over the eastern seaboard for 10 years. Let it sit for years and then hauled it across the continent. I last used it for moving the kid and all his stuff - it took 4 trips of 1,000 mile round trip to do it. I never worry about how it's loaded or what I've got in it. The only thing I don't put in there is my gramma's good china.... :D

Seems like there are a LOT of companies building the things.

Could be that WC has had to lower costs and now produce lesser trailers to compete with the cheapies.

That has happened to a lot of well known brands of other types of equipment.

Do you know that for a fact or are you assuming that they would be willing to endanger their reputation that they have gained over the past 50 odd years.

The trailers are priced a bit higher than other trailers, they are known to be at the top of the price range. IMO opionion that's not indicative of lowering of their standards!

Sorry to say but your list is not very helpful.
It is a mix of manufacturers, distributors, and dealers. Several links are old and give 404 pages, requiring further searching within the site.

FWIW - I have always thought of Wells Cargo as a high quality product. Featherlite is at the top o the heap in quality as well as price $$$$.
My old (2001) Pace American was a high quality trailer, but that company was sold. The new owner has a good bio and reputation, so Pace I think is still a good choice.
Worthington had a stellar rep once, but they too went under and then came back. (link shown is 404. Current website "under construction")

Cargo Mate is on that list but considering the lengthy nightmare relayed to us by a forum member, that brand is one to run away from. In fact all the Forest River stuff has shaky reputations.

I will be buying my next trailer from www.nhtrailers.com   I have inspected an 8 x 20 and found the quality to be top notch. The owner passed along that the buying experience was pleasant as well...Family company, mostly build to order although a small inventory on hand also. They sell direct...no dealers...and their website is full of info, options and prices...great for research and comparison purposes. :)

I have an ATC trailer, and it has a v-nose.  You can check out a 3D diagram of my trailer and its prints here: https://rvtrek.org/2016/10/26/lastest-prints/

Thus far my experience with ATC has been positive.  There was a manufacturing defect on some custom design work, which they completely fixed free of charge.  I've towed it around the country a couple times, and hauled some pretty heavy loads in it, no issues thus far.

Hey JohnnyB,

Thanks for checking which ones are any good, I was just using the list I found as a starting point and I hadn't even considered that some of them had gone belly up. It would seem that that is another factor to consider when looking for a trailer. Also, thanks for the great link to the nhtrailers.com as I had never even heard of them! Their website has lots of ideas to consider for modifications, and it looks like they put out a quality product.

Not on your list is Weeroll. They have versions they make and will do some alterations but not a lot. They are a small business and the owner oversees everything that's done. Because they are a small operation and in demand, they say they need 120 days to complete an order.

I'm interested in Weeroll but my concern is they don't seem to do anything as large as I want. Most of their stuff looks to be single axle and I was looking at possibly double. I do like the looks of their stuff though.

I believe he will do double axle but I'm not sure how big he will go on trailer size. But call him. Very nice guy.
