Starting just as the RTR is winding down, for those interested in Ham Radio, or any of the seminars at Quartzfest 2019.

Duplicate post over here in case my post disappears from another thread for being off-topic.

Just me and about 800 of my closest Ham Radio friends!

Thanks again for bringing this up, tx2sturgis. I would have been really bummed to later learn that I was just a couple miles from this at the end of the RTR and never knew. Woohoo, it looks like they will even be holding exams! Otherwise it looks like I would have to trek to Phoenix if I couldn't knock it out here in Denver before hitting the road.

I will have the Technician License study manual with me at the RTR if anyone else wants to check it out and maybe go for your license as well.

Tx how far is that from YARC Camp? Can I drive the 4 Wheeler over?

Do you have a costume to dress up Cammie for the pet parade?

The Quartzfest event is just a few miles from the RTR and La Posa LTVA. It's about 5 miles or so due south of Quartzsite on HWY 95.

It's open to anyone, its on BLM land so all normal BLM rules apply.

What I don't know is if a few days at the RTR permitted area counts against your 14 day (25 mile radius) limit on BLM land or not.

Hmmmm....

So...if any of you are still in the area after RTR, feel free to come say hello at Quartzfest.

From Quartzsite, head south on 95, just past the 99 mile marker, turn right on La Paz Valley Road. Then immediately turn right onto the dirt...and you will see a LOT of RVs and other rigs with antennas.

There is a blue welcome tent in the central area, and a main fire pit. My rig is about 800 feet west of that main blue tent. I have a black pirate flag that says 'Surrender The Booty'

You can camp anywhere, all normal BLM rules apply.

My pooch and myself were in the pet parade, which was after the huge potluck dinner...tomorrow its a solar walkabout and model rocketry recovery methods, and also a talk by Blue Sky Energy. Land Ops and a music jam are also on the list!

See you there!
