I was at an estate sale Sunday and they had a nice little 8.5 ft Porte-a-Bote, they wanted more than I wanted to pay, so left my phone number and an offer, they called and I got it this afternooon.

I fish whenever I can and this will make that even more fun. I didn't realize at the time but they were also including the electric trolling motor and a 2hp 4stroke gas Honda motor, both of which I got as well.

PB

Now all I need is another Ultralight to carry as well!

Boat is interesting, ultralite ? More info, if you would ?

Whoa, good score. I've known 2 different people who incorporated folding porta botes into their RV lifestyle, fits flat against the side in a little sling. I've also used one a number of times fishing estuaries for Striped Bass, seaworthy little craft and yeah we had a little 2 hp on back though not a Honda, can't be the Honda IMO.

Owl,
UltraLight is a hang glider with an engine and landing gear. Kind of a winged ATV. Folds up, requires no license or air strip, good up to about three thousand feet. I used to have one and it was great fun.

ATB,
PB was a great score, $225! The 8.5 ft version I can get in the Civic with the seat folded down. I had a 12 ft version years back and loved it, this will make summer much more fun.

Corky, yea I've seen them around Q. You said you needed another one to carry around. I was wondering if you currently fly them.

That's a very slick folding design...I likey! I have an inflatable 3 person boat, and I can tell anyone with certainty that it's a pain in the butt to both inflate the boat, and equally a pain to deflate the boat. Just as bad trying to clean my inflating boat too. That folding design looks way easier to setup and tear down, and I imagine it would be easier to clean too. Only major problem (for me) is I don't have space to store or transport the folding boat design, but I do have just barely enough space for an inflatable boat design. Always a compromise.

Owl.
I used to fly regularly, but six years ago I crash one and the now ex-wife threatened to leave me if I kept flying. Two years later it was surfing, so I told her she could leave. Now I have the hankering to fly again, so I'm looking for another rig. I'm getting or building the toys I want to take on the road with me, rebuilding the RV,bought the PB, bought a float tube and I'm now watching the net for deals on an UltraLight that I can carry with me. Got just the space on the roof for it!

Casey,
I love the ease of use a PB has, ten minutes to setup or take down, easy to keep clean and fun to use. Being short, I raised the hallway floor of the MH to allow me to store the PB there, only needs four inches of heght wghen it's folded.

Zil,
Estate sales with RV's is a good place to look for them. I've found several on sale there. Also Craig's List in the boats section
