Last winter I slept on a 3/4" piece of plywood that measured 40"x 68" across the front of my oversized aluminum truck cap with an air mattress.
The big problem with this is I am 74" inches long and weight around 275 pounds which causes the cheapo air mattress(s) to have a rather short life span.
So this winter being in a much improved financial and physical state of well being I have decided to go first class and spare no expense making my comfort the first priority.
The base of my new bed is the Cabela's Alaskan Guide® Cot with an 84" x 32" sleeping area that has a capacity of up to 500 pounds.

For a mattress only the Therm-A-Rest MondoKing Mattress XXL size 4" thick 80"l x 31"w will do.

What is most advantageous of the above is that is completely portable and is not built into one specific vehicle and goes from an apartment to a vehicle to a tent.
The $50 Walmart 10'x13' screen room I bought last year was a pain to set up and has developed a tear in the roof so my plans are to recycle one of the two screen areas with a center zipper to fit the back of my truck cap using 1" square stick on velcro and a sewing needle and thread.
Next winter I am also taking my $10 (yard sale) Sears Hillary 6'x8' tent with rain fly to use as a possible bug free "living room" using my deluxe folding reclining arm chair with a little plastic folding table to use as a desk for my netbook computer.
