Just came back from the grocery store. Saw a guy loading groceries into the back of a hearse. I could see enough to recognize a camping set up. No pics. Drat! Didn't have my phone. It seemed a little bit taller than a regular hearse and had a blue metallic paint job. Not use trying to stealth in that, I guess.

I could see driving a hearse and hauling my junk around in it...

but I don't know if I could sleep in one! that may just give me the creeps! :p

Sleeping would be easy as long as you keep the spirits locked away from the spirits.

Nothing worse than a drunk spirit.

I do not think I could sleep in it, especially if he left the coffin drawers in. That would have been too much. I could not tell, tho. By the time I got around the aisle to get a better look, he was pulling out. I have seen him around town before, but never gave a thought to what was inside. He must be in a local campground and not trying to stealth. Even without the royal blue metallic paint, he'd stand out parked on the street.

Not stealthy...or is it. Hide in plain sight, who suspects someone (living) to be resting in there? :)

As long as the area was reasonably quiet, I'd probably sleep like.. the dead. AHHH-HaHaHaaaaa! ..Willy.

Hmmm if you think about it living in a hearse is pretty slick. Most people I think would overlook that on the street if it was parked next to van, or an RV.

Especially if it had custom plates that read: "GAMEOVR"

The hearse thing is just a little too far out there and I wouldn't want to ride in it let alone sleep in it. It takes a special character. It reminds me of a guy I worked with long ago. He drove an old raggedy 70's Ford station wagon with all the side and rear windows busted out. He wore one of those tight fitting leather caps with the chin strap and wore those goggles that open cockpit airplane pilots wore. Drove it year round in Michigan, wipers didn't work so he would reach out with a snow brush in the winter. Oh yes he also had a lawnmower permanently strapped to the luggage carrier on top but never mowed his lawn with it. He lived in an upscale neighborhood in Birmingham and was always at war with the city and neighbors over not mowing his lawn and code issues. His house ended up catching on fire.

Steamjam1: pretty slick

Me: I just don't think I could go there, maybe because at my age, I am too close to a final ride in one. Even with that fabulous paint job, it was still a hearse. But you could be right about other people not thinking that anyone would be sleeping in it.

I would be more concerned about being in a vehicle that carried chemicals, radioactive products, bomb/drug making materials, certain building materials, etc.

This thread is too funny! I love it! ROFL!!

Years ago the early ambulances were made along the same chassis as the hearse. They were a little taller though; just like you said.
