So yall check.my math and tell me where I am messing up. I have a Ezip Trails electric bike, it has two battery packs that are 24 volt and 10ah each. You run on one till its dead and then switch yo the other. So thats a total of 20ah. They cost about $120.00 each pac. The pac consists of two gell cell SLA 12 volt batteries wired togethrr for 24 volt. Its a heavy pack. So I can get a 35ah agm battery for about $70.00 each. Why cant I wire two of these together for 24 volts and 35ah and for $140.00 have 35ah that is almost twice the power in amp hours and also go further plus the batteries should last longer? Plus it would be.lighter than two of the battery pacs! The ebike has a saddler bag kinda platform obove the back tire that would easily hold a milk crate with the batteries.

As long as you have the 24 volts, the bike will run. The more 20 hour amp rating the further the bike will go. Get as much amp hour you can. Argument about if 35 is almost twice 20 when it comes to batteries.

I'd go LiFePO4 and save on weight and size, and maybe long-term cost. Up front costs more though.

I have one of these batteries, mine is 36 volt 10 amp. It is a good battery. It slides into a rack over the rear wheel and locks in place. The USA distributor where I got mine is no longer around, but there are other retailers.

I met a guy the other day who had a front hub drive bike with the battery pac from a rechargeable mower. Don't know any specs, but he said it worked fine.

Hey folks thanks. I think when I get back this summer I am.gonna try this. Dont want to burn the motor or something out on the road!
