Anyone think they could live in this, like the coolest lady on earth in CO in the Mitsu Montego Sport White, on Bob's video ...

It would be tight for a 6' 200 lb dude?

4 runners are tight for me just sitting in the front seats. the rear seat is even tighter, not comfortable at all. highdesertranger

I think it takes a very unique person to live in spaces that small. Wish I was one of them. I've always gravitated towards small spaces, lived in a 300 sq ft home for years and loved it. But a 6' 200 lb guy in a small SUV full time is more than likely unrealistic. But only you can decide if it would work for you or not.

Agree.  I need a lot of leg room even while driving long distances.  I've slept in an EVO, a rally car,  in WY my way to CO and woke up with a black eye for no reason : )  Seriously, I wasn't at a bar just my fist leaning on my face while sleeping!

She was a smaller lady, and really had her stuff together but too tight for a bigger person.

Thanks man

Great info.  I almost was looking at a newer one.

maybe you would be a better fit. I am 6'2" 220lbs and to old to be cramped up. so for me it's a no go. highdesertranger

I think you're right.  I would like to be able to stand up and stretch in the morning in privacy.  Not that can't be done in the desert : )

I'd look hard at a Tacoma with a tall shell. It still would be unpleasant for most people, but it might be possible.
Bob

I' m 5' 10" and I have to sleep diagonal or leave the tailgate and topper open to be comfortable in my single cab Tacoma. I would try laying down in one before buying one. We ended up building a light weight camper.

Agreed.  I saw your YT video with the gentleman from NY with the green Tacoma.  He had a nice set up and seemed to get a great deal on his gear as well.  I don't know if I could shower with a spray bottle though :p  but he looked pretty clean haha.

I dream of towing my cargo trailer with a smaller SUV, and using it for quick overnights also. But yeah, at 6' and 230 there are only so many that I could fit in. That and the fact that I don't want to spend that kind of money have kept me from pulling the trigger and moving forward with it.

Here are my experiences & thoughts on a few vehicles over the years. I live/have lived in, used, & stayed in;
I started with 2wd, 2 door Toyota extend cab pickup, bed liner, regular camper shell & camping equip, I still have the Toyota and camper today. The Toyota and camper was doable, I'm 5'5 and 115lbs. I did that for years.. The problems were I couldn't go off road to far and I couldn't cook, potty, or shower comfortably inside when it was raining or snowing.

I knew a guy that had a F250 Super Duty with a nice Lance slide in camper, with a wet bath. Loved that camper. We would be out in nowhere land for months. Its was very comfy for 2 people, had enough room & it didn't feel cramped, plus we could go off road that the 2wd Toyota, travel trailer, & 5th wheels cant &/or shouldn't go as they don't stand up to the test of time.

So out of all of these

if you wanna go off road, I recommend a truck & a slide in camper. That fits 1 or 2 people comfortably. I was hoping to buy Will's rig, The green Toyota Tacoma 4x4 with a slide in camper. He sold it before I made an offer.  I would have a made a makeshift shower setup. Then hit the road again for the RTR that happening tomorrow.  :) Next year...

Toyota run just about forever with less maintenance problems than most vehicles. I read an article yesterday on which vehicles have the highest and lowest maintenance problems. Toyota Prius is #1.  Toyota Tacoma is #5 on the list but #1 for trucks. :}

Oh I wasn't sure of the gentleman's name in that YT vid with the green tacoma.  I didn't know he sold it.  I'm thinking I will need some sort of shower set up so the 4runner probably won't work.  I know showering with a spray bottle won't work for me but totally cool if that works for others.  I'm just a bit OCD about my hygiene...  I could join a gym and work out and shower there every morning I guess but not 100% on that one.  Plus after writing on here and reading responses I really think, like Bob and yourself said I will need more room.

A slide in in a Tacoma
Heck, I'd be afraid to put one in a Ranger lol

Why did Will sell his rig? Is he still in the road?

I'd heard he bought a bigger rig because his wife retired and joined him on the road.
