17 x 24 truck camper roof escape hatch

after 23 years the plastic cap had it's last tree branch meeting. It's a Heng,s elixir model came without install guide and I am having trouble reconnecting the crank gotta be something simple the bug screen is not coming off went online but it's too old a model for recent youtube stuff Help?

check out the other thread just started on "escape hatches or vents" someone has a link to a surplus rv site they have a hatch on there that is 15x 22 for 94.00, that may be the hole size so 17 x 24 may be the overall size worth a look.
