Hey all, got these lights

https://www.amazon.com/Audew-340MM-...897&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=12v+light+bar&psc=1

Last night hit the local Dollar Tree and was wandering and saw the 9V batteries and thought "I wonder if this might work"

So, got the batteries (2 per package)  and hooked them up....Oh wow, they DO work with 9V and the light is a bit softer.

Now if I'm damaging them, I'll accept I shouldn't do this, but am so happy that the light is not so glaringly bright now...

IF I do go trailer (RV or cargo) route, I have 3 more I can hook up for lighting...Just kind of happy/stunned this worked so well...

What I like also is I put them on their back and they light up the van via reflective light and helps me see stuff.

You're good to go.
You'll have to experiment to see how long a battery will last though.

Obviously, DC lighting will work with less voltage than intended, and should not damage it, but light output is reduced. If this isn't an issue, then you should have no problems.

Thanks guys. The great thing is that it has a "Off/On" switch and so it's only going to be used "As needed"

Glad to hear I won't be damaging them....load off my mind.

why don't you put a 12v dimmer on them, that way if you ever need full brightness you got it. highdesertranger
