hoping someone knows something I don't before I have to dig into this. I pulled the old furnace from the van and now no wired 12v works. It had 6 lines (3 strands) running into the furnace. Two were marked thermostat.....it has an old house style wall mount thermostat. I put a multi-meter to the strands and got nothing. No fuses blown.

Ok, back up.

You pulled the furnace because?

And are you replacing it, or what?

Are you digging into the furnace to fix it? If so, what happened?

Or are you digging into some RV wiring, that wont power anything?

We need a bit more to go on...

exactly right. and to top it off it was using the furnace as a grounding point. I was wondering why the ground strap in the left wheel well was just hanging. I didnt mess with it cause it all worked. Without furnance = no ground to fuse block.

thanks

You absolutely do not want a furnance in an RV. It's extremely inefficient and takes battery to run the blower. It was broken but even if it wasn't it would be gone. Replacing with Mr. Buddy or electric space heater....havent decided yet.

Gotcha. Yes I agree...but not having a crystal ball means I did not know why the furnace was coming out.

(could have been coming out for repairs or upgrades for all I knew)

In my old Class A, I left the old furnace as a backup heat source but also installed an Olympian Catalytic and it worked well for 16 years. By then the furnace was noisy when it was running. ( I did not upgrade the board or replace the blower motor)

Anyway, looks like Guy was right on top of that...and I'm glad you figured out the wiring.
