Vmaxxtanks batteries, anyone familiar with them?

I don't know how they manage the shipping but it was free. Haven't heard of sediment before, is that the lead plates shedding? I don't mean to get off topic too far but this relates to charging the battery. I soldered the 4 gauge wiring to the battery lugs instead of crimping. I couldn't find a...

Vmaxxtanks batteries, anyone familiar with them?

I have the 155ah vmaxtank. Haven't had it long enough to tell you if it's a great battery or not. I did find out that it can only accept 35amps at 14.7 volts for an hour max before I'm supposed to turn the voltage down. Another thing, if you hear it slightly sizzling when you put your ear close...

Technical Q&A For Renogy Solar Products

Renogy, I'm about to pull the trigger on getting 3 of your flexible 100 watt panels. My idea is to use adhesive to fasten them to the roof. Unfortunately the garage I park at is barely tall enough for my van otherwise I would just buy your regular panels with the Z bracket attachment. My...

Why does my power max converter spark when I try to hook it up to the battery?

Thanks all. I hooked it up from the converter to the battery and viola, no sparks. SternWake, thanks for the masking tape tip, I see what you mean. The voltage reflects the battery's it seems. You should work for powermax. They need some help writing a simple manual to go with their converter.

Why does my power max converter spark when I try to hook it up to the battery?

It is the bpcm-60, 60 amp adjustable voltage converter. I have a 4 Guage multiple strand wire I bought by the foot from lowes. The wiring is around 2 feet Long

Why does my power max converter spark when I try to hook it up to the battery?

Imagine a positive and negative wire is already hooked up to the battery. All I need to do iso hook those two wires up to my converter. I attach the positive wire up to the converter. Now I take my negative and attempt to hook it up to the converter. It sparks. Where should I go from here? Sorry...

Folding bed / toggling bed / murphey bed for my van

Yessir. One nut, washer, and bolt. I just finished my second night of tossing and turning on top of it. Still seems solid. Ask me again in 6 months and I'll know for sure.

Folding bed / toggling bed / murphey bed for my van

Thanks, I'm definitely glad to move on. I don't remember the exact dimension for the mattress but I think it is standard size. I honestly can't tell the difference between this bed and my previous mattress that sat on box springs. It's very comfortable. I wanted a fold up bed so that I can...

Folding bed / toggling bed / murphey bed for my van

I had a hard time finding a design suitable for my 15 passenger van. This is what my grandfather and I came up with.     All that I need to do now is hook straps to the sides to keep it in the upright position.

Anyone own a Dodge Ram 3500?

I have a dodge b3500 ram van, 15 passenger. I bought it from a guy who bought it from a university who used it as a maintenance van. It has 88,000 miles on it. I've only been driving it for A month and no problems. Mine didn't have carpet so I had to put that in. Maintenance So far I've had to...

    Temporary curtain solution

My apartment lease was up and I had to move out. I'm still working on getting a quote for railing and real curtains so I had to improvise. If you need a quick and dirty privacy solution go down to Lowes or home depot and find some of this stuff: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visqueen  It is...

Where do you buy your electrical cables retail/online?

Thanks for the warning on the charging current limit, I had missed that. I do plan on hooking up an additional 155ah battery next month. Would the upper limit current acceptance change from 35 amps to 70amps? @MikeRuth It's definitely a charger, I just have to manually adjutant voltage instead...

Where do you buy your electrical cables retail/online?

Thanks everyone. I have another question. What cables would yall use to hook http://www.bestconverter.com/Boondocker-BPCM-60-60-Amp-Adjustable-Power-ConverterCharger_p_585.html#.VR1__XP0CBY up to a 155ah AGM battery? (Vmax) And with what end connectors?

Where do you buy your electrical cables retail/online?

I'm putting together my electrical system this week and next. It would be nice to have a walk in store to buy cables when needed but if you use a good online store please enlighten me. Just bought a 155ah Vmax tank, Boondock 60 amp manual adjust converter, cheap amp/volt digital reader and...

What did you, yourself, Repair recently?

@sternwake I'm wishing I had bought an adjustable impact wrench. Mine is the 300ftlb kobalt corded. Works good but I have to let off the trigger otherwise it's too powerful. @highdesertranger I counted threads to get it close enough to drive it to the alignment shop. Do you know what the...

What did you, yourself, Repair recently?

I replaced a tie rod end and adjuster sleeve which was surprisingly easy but then you have to get your wheels aligned which costs $75. Do you need special equipment for this? I know that they used lasers but surely there is a cheap way to do it yourself. I replaced both front rotors as they...

    The Floor.

I don't know what's best but what I did was put down 1 inch polyiso, 1/2 inch plywood, carpet padding and then carpet. Cost about $200 from Lowes. The hardest part was cutting the plywood the correct size. It took two sheets of plywood, two polyiso sheets, 12 feet of carpet and padding, about...

    Hot humid Texas

That means no evaporative cooling which is low wattage. I've been considering the mightykool mk4 unit but I would rather have a real air conditioner that actually extracts heat instead of pushing it around inside the vehicle. So my question is, why wouldn't a 1200btu unit similar to this one...
