    Door foam insulation (factory)

How important is this on a conversion van? Ripping it all out from the door jam, including the carpet trimming on the doors, yields some decent storage space for bottles, cleaners and other thin, tall items. Will I lose significant insulation? Much more condensation? Thanks.

Battery Deals, maybe $30 for a Marine 12v

Anyone tried making a deal with auto part stores?  They have a bunch of old-butt, marine batteries that they usually can't sell and they just sit there for years. The newest one I saw was manufactured on Dec 2015 and the guy said he'd drop it from $75 to $50  (group 24 IIRC). Then I see like...

Restoring Dead 12V Batteries with Epson Salt

So I have this dead battery that was replaced in 2005 and just sitting in the back corner of my yard, in all 4 seasons of the East Coast for over 10 years.  Using epson salt + distilled water, it seems to be holding a charge and has been running my little computer fans for over 2 days...

40% off code from Advanced Auto Parts TRT41

Wow, this is crazy. $40 off of $100 purchase and seems to work on sale items. This seems like a regular thing too. Often times, it's 20-30% codes. And it's pretty much every week there are new codes as the old ones expire.s. You order and pay for it online. Print or bring the emailed receipt...

UPS Store "real street address, not PO Box"

Just saw this at the UPS Store. They have a bunch of PO Boxes in the front and the sign says that you get a "real street address" and not a PO box. Looks like they're catering to people without a physical address which should solve problems such as Motor Vehicle registrations, etc.

Getting Robbed at GunPoint when buying from Craigslist

I've bought and sold about 7 cars in the last 5 years using Craigslist. But recently I'm starting to get nervous. Few weeks ago I went to check out a $1500 1997 conv. van in a not so nice area, although the neighborhood he lived in was very nice though (just the surrounding was bad). He was...

    On haggling

<br /><br /><br />Pawning is different. The pawnshop offering the very low price, is NOT buying it. They are giving you a loan. They usually don't want what you're pawning. For example, this $700, is like a LOAN with INTEREST.&nbsp; The pawnshop wants this loan to be as low as possible so that...

    Bed Idea: folding table?

<span id="post_message_1271405366">How about a plastic, folding table from Costco for $50.&nbsp; It's thin, so space saving. It's high off the ground, so plenty of space underneath and can double as a work desk while sitting in a regular chair w/o having to slouch down. Less headroom though...
