Refurbished Klu by Curtis 7" screen 4GB Android 4.0 (ICE) tablet at Frys Electronics for $58

casey you can mount /data/ to sd, it's commonplace in phones/tablets that have less than optimal i/o controllers to mount to faster sd cards but requires a little more advanced knowledge.

I'm sorta lazy and swap sd cards like I do t-shirts, so I agree its still better to have more...

the radiator fan is labeled 12v 80w - Right now in my apartment I have two small 90w fans I run at night to cool the room (ac set to room temp) so I doubt two 80w fans will be that far off.

12v @ 80w is 6a, and the listing is for two, so maybe that's where the 12A is coming...

@zil I think I had one there originally but it was removed when I took out the catastrophe fuses due to sizing issues. Still not super sure about what size it should be due to current flowing from the inverter and and current coming from the battery.

@wrc how cool does the fantastic fan...

it was going to be an interior fan, not going on the roof, just the fantastic vent. And yes, speed control would be in the plans, even though it can do 12a that's not always going to be necessary.

Definitely not challenging the fantastic fans reputation either haha.

thanks for the tip, I was wondering about that but figured a liner or something would be an easy fix. When I was looking into the heatsink/radiator idea vokus suggested I stumbled across some cheap 12v 80w radiator fans that look like they save quite a bit of space...

That looks like a good model, dc airco also has a more efficient rooftop model than the 8500, the only problem is lack of roof space due to the fan vent and solar array. Split ac units are made for trucks that have similar issue. I'll probably mount the condensor to the back door and pray I dont...

alright I took a ~3 week break from research and decided to get back to work on the project now that I've had a refresher.

Ironically the first 12v dc air conditioner I found going into this will most likely be what's going to be used. I avoided it originally due to no pricing or...

looks like it's back to the drawing board again, didn't see water pumps the first few looks around. I'll figure something out I just need a break because every ac I find seems to have something wrong with it at a second glance. <img src="/images/boards/smilies/crazy.gif" class="emoticon...

The main reason the dometic refrigerator was even considered was because it's a low power 12v 45w refridgerator. Power consumption much higher than that would be better left to just buying cold food/drinks fresh and immediately consuming them. They are kind of pricy but I find value behind...

It's cool I appreciate you looking out.
There are dozens of 12v <30a systems there as well, they're averaged at maximum draw, that 110v system is one of the only AC driven air conditioners on there, DC is preferred.
I've sent this company another email about the sub-40A setups because...

Yeah you're right. battery fuses are just too much of a pain and I'll have everything else fused so there's really not much reason to bother. The whole reason to have the circuit breaking switches there is so I can turn off power sources to prevent excess amperage. I'm really not going to be...
