    Truck stops

Haven't tried a McDonald's. I've heard gunshots I. The middles of the night out in the desert, usually night hunting or people playing with wizard mode (night vision) on their backyard ranges. Not sure about Winslow. Seems a bit .. crowded for that.

    Truck stops

I haven't seen a wandering lot lizard in years. (I've seen some girls who were obviously with a trucker for a reason, but never wandering around knocking on doors. Not in years. Not sure what the worse is. The worst I've had is panhandling, and they know not to wake you up.

    Sitting on the fence

I have run a Windstar north of 300,000 miles. Relax. Maintenance is key, but remember that the chassis and drivetrain is a Ford Taurus. The only real design issue with the Windstar is the front suspension lacks some adjustment. But a good mechanic can just bust the pillars... And well, that's...

    Truck stops

I've seen stuff in Oklahoma and Missouri. (In fact, my rule for 40 out there is the same as all the northern routes through the Midwest. KEEP DRIVING) - but I've never seen any issues in the SW or mountain west. (I've never tried to overnight at a "truck stop" that's actually an urban station...

Why the Dearth of Mini-Class C RVs???

So, I just passed up a lesharo to get a 95 roadtrek. The lesharo isn't quite a C (no cabinet) but fits the "mini c" or "maxi b" category. I passed it up and got the one tin Dodge chassis simply because I need to do more. I can't imagine the lesharo going with me on a 40k/mi year. (Yeah, used...

    Good C Class RVs?

I've owned two class c motorhomes. I'd rather squeeze into a 23-26 than deal with driving a 29+. I'd rather deal with a 29+ than deal with a slide out. (I think the first six or seven times from the 1930s to the 1970s that those were tried they just faded away in failure) nothing will make...

Well, here we are. New to the forum. Not necessarily new to vans, RVs, or serial nomadism. (I have reset life twice with nothing more than a backpack, and another time in a pinto) Currently selling a 94 Thor (Ford chassis) 29.5 foot monster. Downsizing into a 19 foot roadtrek class B for some...
