    Flipping the passenger seat

As I recall. I needed to get two longer bolts and add two short steel spacers when the Mazda seat was flipped because the mounting surface is at different levels in front and back. But no drilling or mods required.

    Toyota Hybrid Dimensions

Wait and see what the Grand Highlander looks like, and if it's released with a hybrid powertain. Details are expected in March I think, for 2023 model year.

Keeping moonroof open for air overnight?

Wish someone made a larger size of this (I've got a Subaru Forester)

    Flipping the passenger seat

I had to do minor drilling on the Subaru seat rails. There were two small nubs on the floor-mounted rails, I drilled a whole in each seat rail to accommodate the nubs when reversed. I don't think there is any structural issue and no one will notice when the vehicle is sold.

    Flipping the passenger seat

I can't speak for the Sienna, but I have reversed the passenger seat for camping on my Mazda CX-5 and current 2015 Subaru Forester. I was ver cautious the first times on both- disconnecting battery and underseat connectors. Now I just remove the four bolts, flop it around (carefully) and rebolt...

Remove the back seats, sleeping on passenger side?

Good luck with the project Maple. Good to start with some hand tools, but honestly I don't think a hand jigsaw will be up to the job. It's really difficult to get good straight cuts with one of those and you will overwork the motor and blade. There will be many straight cuts you'll need to make...

Remove the back seats, sleeping on passenger side?

I am not very good at wood working, but I'm sort of fearless about trying things. I have access to a good wood and metal shop where I work. The bandsaw and table saw were essentials, and I did a small bit of metal fabrication on some of the hinges- cutting, drilling new holes. And a good hand...

Remove the back seats, sleeping on passenger side?

Thanks for your kind words Maple. I was happy to see your post because you were asking about the same car with the same needs. It basically took me several months, starting in May, and I've been tweaking and refining along the way. Some components, such as the kitchen box (made from a...

Remove the back seats, sleeping on passenger side?

In my 2015 Forester I've removed the back seat and all the plastic and metal support structures. Also took out the rear deck and foam cover over the spare tire. Built a flat deck out to where the back seats were, and hinged covers to continue a flat surface out to the back of the driver's seat...

    Foam mattress or inflatable pad?

The Milliard Tri Folding Mattress with Washable Cover is really comfortable, comes in varying widths and starts at $95. It's much more like sleeping in a real bed than a camping pad or inflatable mattress. The removable cover is really soft, a big improvement over just a piece of cut foam in my...

In-line fuse needed for small 10W fan?

I'm getting the message here, thanks. I just ordered some in-line fuse holders.

In-line fuse needed for small 10W fan?

I'm running two small 12V fans off of an Ecoflow lithium power station. I was going to switch out the car cig connectors with DC5521 barrel connectors. I discovered that the fans have in-line 2 amp fuses in the cig connectors. Is it really necessary to have such fuses on low amp devices like...

    Air inlets into vehicle?

I'm working on an SUV build and plan to install fans to vent out a screened sunroof. I know that you can't push air out unless there is a way for fresh air to come in. There may be times I'd want the windows closed for stealth or security. Does anyone know if fresh air can enter a vehicle...

increase the cig outlet wire gauge?

As Plethora points out, it is unknown (at lest to me) the capacity of the fuse box is unknown. I'm assuming it's connect to the battery with very high capacity cable, and if so does not represent a weak link. Maybe I'm wrong I'll poke around to see if I can see.

increase the cig outlet wire gauge?

When you say install the circuit right from the battery, do you mean bypass the fusebox and install an inline fuse? If soo, what is the advantage of that? (There is room for another circuit and fuse in the fuse box). It's a pretty easy run from both the console and dash outlets to the fuse box.

increase the cig outlet wire gauge?

I'm building out a small SUV that has 3 cig lighter outlets (fuse rating) - dash 10A, console 20A, luggage (no fuse listed?) I can see the wiring under the console, it's 2.2mm with insulation, which I guess to be around 16 gauge. I'll be running (while driving) a small Alpicool fridge and...

    Combination bug/privacy/reflecting screens?

I'd have thought that everything that seems like a good idea for vehicle camping would have been produced by now, but I cannot find anything like this? (maybe its not such a good idea?)  I'm outfitting my Subaru Forester as a micro camper. I've tried the sock-style screens, but they are tedious...

    fabric for plywood buildout?

What type of fabric is best for covering plywood platforms? I'm building out my Subaru Forester as a micro-camper. Something similar to what a stock rear deck would be covered in. Thin, durable, applied with spray adhesive and maybe staples?

2021 Toyota Sienna and Pacifica- how helpful is hybrid for van living?

There is info in this thread about a device that will bypass the warning. I haven't tried it, plan to wait until the next model year to see if Toyota makes seat removal any easier.
