    Hello from Kentucky

Just popping in to say hi/welcome.

    Hello from new member, Beka

Yeah a lot of people are interested in, like, make-shift RV's to travel in the form of a van etc. For me, the biggest complexities to an amateur (like me) would be trying to figure out plumbing or electric, or even the installation of the fan. Even solar panels would be easy to put up with...

    Howdy

Damn that's tough, I totally understand that. I think some of the worst part of all of it is how avoidable some of it could've been. Hope you get some peace for a while from it all. Welcome.

Honda Fit as my new mini-RV

Anyone recommend a good value stealth van?

Do better tires or anything hing else help the weight/performance, just out of curiosity? Like, I've seen some streamers really get these large good looking tires.

Anyone recommend a good value stealth van?

I get it. So putting permanent weight, even if under the capacity, on the 15000's specs, harshly stresses and degrades the lower specs/system. So generally weight capacity is just a guide for how much, but if you permanently build something the stress over time or under certain conditions like...

    Heating solutions

I can't stand hot and humid weather personally. I imagine I would rather have a heater but with warm bedding and maybe an electric mattress/blanket I'd be content. There are also extremely warm sleeping bags that work.

Anyone recommend a good value stealth van?

True but what would happen if I loaded, say, 2700lbs into a Promaster 1500 and never increased the weight. It says 4000lb capacity, but would this permanent weight cause mechanical problems, repairs, or unseen issues for me? In other words, assuming I never increase the weight from 2700lbs, what...

Anyone recommend a good value stealth van?

I guess just the fact that I'm going to insulate, have a built bed, a desk and cabinet or two, water storage, and a battery that probably weighs 100lbs, again eliminates the 1500 from my plans. Although I wasn't going to build anything too extensive like other's have with vast wood or build in...

Anyone recommend a good value stealth van?

Thanks but some people say the 1500 isn't enough specs to really durably sustain a decent build but it's far cheaper over the 2500 so your insight is valuable. I don't plan on doing a huge build, just a moderate build. I don't plan on doing super heavy wood projects or anything like that. I too...

    Heating solutions

I've seen people use some mr buddy heater inside a van in videos, would that not work? Ventilation an issue with propane? I never thought of using propane mainly because I envision my van having poor ventilation in general and I'm kind of afraid of propane sources even if it's really viable over...

    Setting up my minivan FAST!!!

Do something like this or the sun joe, fill it up with 5 gallons of water, maybe mix half hot water in with half cold. Keep it charged. Then put a large plastic container under you throw a curtain around you, and you have a nice little spray shower presumably for $150...

Who here rents a driveway for nightly use?

This is my exact problem. At one point I hypothesized that maybe I could find a gray area parking space for rent that doesn't specifically talk about overnight or reference living in obviously, but maybe just a space in a industrial area that one could mostly stealth at night. But I've yet to...

Moving into a van 30 years younger.

I think after all the reading I've done, get the basics down that you need, then work over time on doing the rest little by little based on how your life feels. I'm not sure how I'll do a stove to be honest. I don't expect to cook a ton but I was researching convection ovens that run on lower...

    Setting up my minivan FAST!!!

Depending on your needs be it whole sections or windows, you need blackout curtains either attached to something to the windows or strung up (to block light in the front etc.) I was researching the "sun joe" portable shower sprayer 5 gallon but for a pure mini van you're better off doing a...

Anyone recommend a good value stealth van?

Where on earth can you get a "parking pass" especially in NJ? That sounds like an intriguing idea but I have no clue where. The local college idea is too temporary for me and truck stops and dinners just stick out and are patrolled probably. I agree at a certain age it's too hard to sneak around...

Anyone recommend a good value stealth van?

You couldn't be more right. The cops in North NJ are so mean, they just like to ruin your life or patrol things because there's no crime here and they are really idealistic with regard to poorer people or those that choose different lifestyles.  I am still kind of unclear as to whether I could...
