A place for humorous vandwelling-related pictures

Gotta say I'm loving this thread. I like anything a bit different, plus I have a lifelong love of anything American, especially classic vans. You guys are so lucky to have those vehicles at your disposal, we have a bit of an american vehicle scene over here but I couldn't hope to afford to run...

    Covering conversion van windows

Just a tin of multi surface gloss black. First coat goes on a bit runny if you go too heavy, just a thin coat is better. Then as it dries add another coat. Make sure the glass is spotless before you start, then as you build up the coats you will not get any blemishes in the outside finish....

    MacGyvering Vs. buying the win.

Many years driving trucks taught me what bits & bobs to carry & how to improvise repairs at the roadside. This was before companies had roadside assistance for their trucks, sometimes it was a case of fix it yourself or stay where you are....

    Full Timing Insurance - UK

I thought about a 3.5 tonner, but as I have the grandfather rights to 7.5t it made sense yo go bigger, no extra outlay, more space & cheaper road tax is a bonus. My bus runs the 3litre Iveco lump with timing chain instead of belt, not been any bother yet. You may be interested in another forum...

    Covering conversion van windows

When I built my bus conversion, I painted the inside of the in needed windows with gloss black paint. Next, I covered the paint with 50mm rockwool loft insulation, then classed over the entire wall/window area with 8mm tongue&groove timber. As its on glass, no brush strokes can be seen & from...

    Mattress ventilation?

My mattress is on a plywood base too, screwed to a 3x2 frame. I drilled mine with plenty 65mm holes in rows about 3 inches apart. I'm a big ol' piece of meat myself, & the bed easily takes my weight & never had any damp issues si o I'd say definitely drill away!....🐻👍

    Pics From My Travels

Few more pics from Bugsworth Basin. The canal usually has a few narrow boats moored there. The Navigation Inn next to the canal serves an outstanding pint of Murphy's stout. Couple of pics from a small rally I attended which was organized by my good friend Maggie. She owns the yellow bus parked...

    What's in your medical bag?

Just thought I'd mention, cobwebs are great to stop bleeding. My old grandad was a 2nd gen farmer, & they were brought up using cobwebs to stop cows horns bleeding if they cut them back & hit a vein....

Best Box Trucks for my Situation?

Hi man, hope you find the van you seek. Just a thought, here in England water tanks are available that sit round the internal arches in certain vans. Sure they will be available in your locale too, or you could certainly have some fabricated to suit whatever vehicle you decide on. I was drawn to...

    Can I really do this?

Hi. If you feel a little out of your depth, don't worry we all started somewhere. Do you have any local buddies who have RVs? Maybe try to organize a few short trips as part of a small group, that way there will be someone on hand if you need any guidance. First few outings are always a little...
