    Restaurants in Jerome, AZ?

Where were you thinking of going? As stated above, Kingman has some good spots that are cooler than LHC. You are going to be getting into some colder weather still if you go much higher than 4 to 5 thousand feet elevation. Coyote Pass is good, but right next to the freeway. Just east of town...

    Summer Living

Not offended but I am curious.  Why would prefer not to be in northern Arizona?  The forests are very open and make for a very comfortable environment.  This year Mo and I are looking at the North Rim area of AZ and National Forests Fishlake and Dixie in UT.  That should keep us busy for a...

The Real Reason Many Retirees Are Choosing to Live in RVs Isn’t What You Think

I hope I didn't over step with my prior comments.  Being new to the concept of van dwelling (at least in this century) I was wondering if some of the people are living the life style due financial need.  I know that when we moved out of our rental and into our step van back in the 70's it was by...

The Real Reason Many Retirees Are Choosing to Live in RVs Isn’t What You Think

Well covered article.  Unfortunately the article is more accurate than we would all like to think.  At this time in a person's life (64 in my case and fully retired) we should be prepared for a life of leisure and casual travel.  There is certainly nothing wroing with living a van dwelling...

Spring GTG - March 31, NE Arizona - Simply Lesa

I like the idea of a small spring gathering.  I will keep an eye on this thread.  Keeping that time open. Mo and I are not full time but we do enjoy long term outings. Mikey

Salem, OR: Homeless...can no longer stay overnight at Walmart

Mo and I lived in a converted bread van back in the 70's (called housecars back then) and we had the same issues that are occurring now.  There really isn't much in the way of places to park and live within a housecar.  My question is this; who's responsibility is it to provide a place to live...

    Solar power and a CPAP

This would be a good topic for a RTR seminar.  Many people are tied to a CPAP and there is so much information out there and quite a bit of it is mis-leading.   I have been using a cpap for many years and found that I can run my cpap from my trailer, my truck and even my motorcycle.  So lots of...

Summer Boondocking in the Williams/Flagstaff AZ area?

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is a GTG?  A1, I am very familiar with as my first camp there was in 1985 without a tent and traveling in a Honda Civic.  It rained all night that first night and I ended up sleeping in the Civic.  Picture someone that is 6'7" trying to sleep in a Civic and you...

Summer Boondocking in the Williams/Flagstaff AZ area?

Hi Sondra. a few areas that are real popular for us are: 1. Fourth st. in Williams turns into Perkinsville rd when heading south and it takes you towards Dog Town and White Horse reservoirs.  That whole area has lots of mountain meadows that are great for camping.   2. A 1 Mountain rd, just one...

Summer Boondocking in the Williams/Flagstaff AZ area?

I am very new to the forum and have not seen any references to the Williams and Flagstaff areas of Arizona.  As far as back country camping goes, I have always felt that the Kaibab and Coconino National Forests were some of the best spots to go.  I have been camping up there for 20+ years and...

How many folks summer in the Williams/Flagstaff area?

I am very new to the forum and have not seen any references to the Williams and Flagstaff areas of Arizona.  I have been camping up there for 20+ years and love it.  My brother usually stays up there for two to three months through the summer and I usually get up there for a few weeks anyway. ...

    Do you LOVE coffee?

Well heck, coffee is just one of those pleasures that make life more meaningful (for me at least).  So I have a pretty good sized percolator that I use and fresh ground beans and make a pot every morning and sometimes two pots depending on guests.  Coffee is always better when shared.   Mikey

    Greetings from Kingman AZ

Quite a few folks aware of or comfortable with my area.  Living in Kingman can give a fellow a sense that you are truly in a desert, and more so than simply the geography.  I look forward to meeting people in the area even if they are only casually passing through.  Mikey

    Greetings from Kingman AZ

I just heard about the group and jumped right in.  Mo and I do not live on the road but we do spend a lot of time boondocking and look forward to more.  We have mostly used a 4X4 with a very small trailer for our travels but have moved to a tent trailer with the intent of staying in one spot for...
