    Your Miles Per Gallon

2014 Chevy Express 2500 with 6 liter V8 engine. 16,000 miles on it. Moderately loaded with solar panels on roof. Daily driving around town 12.5. On a trip, pretty much all freeway 16 to 18.5. I tend to drive 70 to 75 so I think it might be a bit better if I slowed down, duh. Only thing that I...

    Cargo van roof rack

I used three racks mostly because I had them and 2x3's for the slats (cheap) then I mount one 2 x 4 foot panel and with the brackets from the panel I didn't notice the curve at all. One other thing before I had anything on the racks the hamonic vibration noise was mind numbing until I tried...

    Cargo van roof rack

I took the front one off and it is better at least it's not right in my ear but I can hear the rear racks but they aren't as loud. I read after my 1st post that you can wrap the cross piece with a bungee, Ill try tomorrow.

Long time lurker finally buys van

Hi I'm using the 3/4" rigid foam(foil and plastic backed) from Home Depot and then some reflectix where a bit more thickness is needed. For paneling I'm useing 3/4" 1 x 4 pine, nice to work with.

    Cargo van roof rack

Hi I just put some Vantech roof racks on my Chevy express van, the racks are very sturdy but the harmonic noise is pretty bad. First I moved the front one back a bit and that helped some and just a minute ago I removed the front one but have yet to try it on the freeway. Any suggestions? Will...
