    Help. Would this work?

I think someone else picked it up from the auction and they have it listed for $4,000

    Help. Would this work?

Would a '95 Astro van with 49,000 original miles and "government maintained" be a good fit for someone who isn't mechanically inclined?

A question to all full-time van dwellers

I have a hypothetical question to all of those who are full time van dwellers.  Let's say someone gives you a house free and clear in a quiet area with lots of trees. Your taxes amount to $50 per month, and utilities are $100-150 per month, perhaps lower if you're creative. They also give you...

    Do I need a tent?

I just purchased this one and used it last weekend. It appears to be good quality. My only problem was I was camping in 90+ weather with high humidity and it was like an oven inside. It has vents on top but no windows. If you don't need to use it in high heat I would recommend it.

Getting my tiny home/ cabin Thursday!

Stay safe with the hurricane. Had some winds in my area but not bad.

    Ram Vans

I thought someone had posted something about Dodge Ram 1500 vans being best if they were made before a certain year. Any information you can give me about them would be appreciated.

Getting my tiny home/ cabin Thursday!

I love your cabin. This was my dream but I couldn't find land to put it on in west central Florida. I've resigned that I will probably end up staying in my larger house, turn the backyard into an oasis, and go camping every chance I get. It's a happy life so I can't complain.

Money/job issue is my biggest obstacle to living the RV life

I think I'm done here. I gave a little too much information about myself in an attempt to help you. I need to get ready for bed so I can get up early to go to work tomorrow. That's where my money comes from.

Money/job issue is my biggest obstacle to living the RV life

Not sure what keeps drawing me to this thread. Asking coworkers to recycle while helping to give someone a leg up and keeping an eye out for metals as you drive almost sounds like passive income to me. I might look into that one myself. I don't mean this in a condescending way at all. Like I...

Money/job issue is my biggest obstacle to living the RV life

I first have to say I only read through the first 8 pages of this thread so I hope what I am about to say is still relevant.  I think I was in somewhat of a similar situation as the original poster. I had a job that I hated and I felt stuck. I didn't think there was anything else that I could...

Why was van dwelling the best choice?

I'm able to use a camp potty in mine but I think a privacy tent near the door would be a better option. I am comfortable sleeping in a t-shirt and shorts so I don't have to worry about dressing inside the camper.

Why was van dwelling the best choice?

I have a RAV4 and a very basic teardrop (cost $3500 from Craigslist). I thought about selling the RAV to get a van but finally decided to keep what I have for now. I do not full-time but if I ever do, I still think I would start out with what I have until I decide exactly what I would need to...

    Tiny Trailers and Tear Drops

Also check out Trekker Trailers (trekkertrailers.com). I think they are better built than the Runaways.

    Tiny Trailers and Tear Drops

One thing I thought about doing to protect my teardrop is to hide some sort of GPS device in it to help the police find it if it was ever stolen.

    Tiny Trailers and Tear Drops

I know this post is older but I just wanted to let those of you who are looking for a trailer know about trekkertrailers.com here in central Florida. I went to see his trailers and tiny homes firsthand and he does an awesome job. Everything is very well built. If I get a tiny home he will be my...

Your impression of Ram Promaster 1500

Is it easy to maneuver in the city? Do you carry much weight in it?

Want to downsize but has anyone had second thoughts?

I'm thinking about getting a van to be the lounging, kitchen and bathroom and use the teardrop for a bedroom. I have another post in the van section of the van I am looking at.

Your impression of Ram Promaster 1500

I went to see this van today...lots of room inside. I can stand up in it (barely) provided I don't add anything to the roof.  Wondering what your thoughts are. I would like to make it into a lounging area, kitchen and bathroom, and then use the teardrop for my bedroom. Not sure if that would...

Dog questions - to have or not have a dog

Perfect answer.  Visiting the dogs at animal services "just to look" is how I ended up with 2 dogs, so I dare not walk into that place as long as these dogs are alive. They are pain in the butt dogs at home, but amazingly well behaved when I am camping, so I guess they are well suited for the...

Want to downsize but has anyone had second thoughts?

I think you are right. It felt like a lot of work at first because I didn't have a "system" yet. I was constantly looking for things. Normally I love hiking with my dogs. I was just so exhausted getting ready for this trip and I brought way more than I needed. Still not sure why I didn't enjoy...
