    Temperatures and birds

Hi Jeanne, So I'm still renting a place for now.  I'm in a basement apartment.  I've been having a rough time maintaining a full time job so I've opted out of corporate America.  I'm diggin in deep to make my business work.  But money's tough right now. I still have my parrots.  I've contacted...

    Temperatures and birds

Thanks for the perspective.  I appreciate your experience.  My pet birds are my heart and re-homing is an option on the table for me.  My aunt in Florida has a grey (plus a bunch of other animals) so I may end up keeping them there if I need to go the van dwelling route.  The north east region...

    Temperatures and birds

Bob! first, I have to say a big THANK YOU for your book.  I really dig your perspective on life!   So I'm fine driving with out ac.  Windows open is my preference.  If I was able to do that in Florida I'm certain I can handle it in the north east.  A great tip.  Peace!

    Temperatures and birds

Hi everyone, I'm in the pre-planning stages of my vandwelling rig and a big potential issue is my three parrots:  How to house them and keep them cool/warm with the ever changing weather in the northeast region of the us.  I did some research and came to an article talking about ideal...

    Future vandweller? Maybe?

Temperatures are definitely a concern of mine.  Parrots are hardy animals but certainly have their limitations.  I plan on consulting my vet on this. Since the van will be an adventure/emergency vehicle dwelling I will have a contingency plan for my pets if they can't live in the van with me.  I...

    Future vandweller? Maybe?

I figured the DC Metro wouldn't be the best area for stealth camping.  When you have dozens of Law Enforcement agencies patrolling the area (Secret Service, Capitol Hill, National Park, ect. ect.) things can get hairy.  I actually work in Frederick County so things may be easier in the area...

    Future vandweller? Maybe?

No doubt about it popeye, So the bird cages themselves should fit in an astro van just fine along the wall with some rigging.  3 parrots will actually be 2 in one cage and 1 in another.  When I'm with them they are outside their cages.  Enough to climb and play in a van with toys and perches.  ...

    Future vandweller? Maybe?

Hello to everyone, I read bob's book and am deeply intrigued with the idea of living in a vehicle.  I have faced some financial hardship over the past year that has caused me to have to stay with family.  I love 'em but am looking to get back on my own asap. I live in Maryland, and rents for...
