Hi Tessie,
I am 65, single and plan on retirement in January. I just bought a 2002 Pleasure Way which I pick up on 10/26. If I can get everything sorted out, I want to attend the RTR in January.
Hope to meet you there,
Deb
Thanks for reaching out to me! If I’m still in the area during the Spring I’d love to do some dispersed camping..I’m in Indiana. I’ll keep you posted as this all unfolds. I am so hoping I can get to the WRTR and RTR though.
I so understand. I’m sure you will enjoy it so much after it is parked!
As my son who drives double trailer semis tells me....just keep it between the lines! ;)
I finally bought my RV!! I’ve been a member here for over 2 years I think and have been planning, asking questions and gathering info.
I looked at Roadtreks but I felt too claustrophobic in them...I moved onto to a wide body Pleasure Way and found my match. I bought a 2002 PW Excel TD already...
Is this a problem that could have been fixed? If so, how would I know? Or is the consensus just to stay away from anything with that type of engine?
Thanks for your help!
In my continual search for my Class B I have come across a 2002 PleasureWay WB with a Ford Triton V8 engine.
It is pricey and the mileage is I think below average for the year (112,000).
It has everything I want and is already equipped with solar (300 watts) w/a 600 Pure Sine Wave Inverter...
I’m not the original poster, but I have some questions. :-)
I will not be a full timer, but do long trips periodically. I started looking at vans (RoadTreks, Coachman, etc.) but find that I am feeling claustrophobic in them.
I will be doing this solo and am also on the smaller size...is it...
Okay..here’s an update on the “Chevy” engine...it was a Dodge and was always a Dodge. I misread the description...:-(
It was a very well maintained unit, but it was a pass for me. I was feeling claustrophobic so now my search is for a wide body to see if that helps.
I’m so trying to avoid...
It is what is listed on the website details regarding this unit .but I won’t be seeing it in person until Saturday so I will ask then.
It’s with a dealer, not a private individual so it may have been listed incorrectly?
Thank you all so much for your input!
Hello,
I don’t know if this is in the correct area or not...please feel free to let me know if it is wrong.
I am looking at a 1999 Coachman Saratoga Class B and it is has a Chevy 5.9L V8 engine. I know nothing about engines and when I do a Google search it shows mostly Dodge engines for a 5.9L...
Thank you both for your replies. It turned out that I didn’t get to go today so will look at it on Saturday.
It has a Chevy V8 5.9...whatever that means. :-)
Hello,
I am looking at a 1999 Coachman Class B this afternoon and it is at a dealership.
Do any of you own one of these? If so would you share the pros and cons?
Also, I’ve always heard ‘never go to a dealer’ always buy from a private owner. But honestly, I don’t know if that’s the way to...
This is a great topic as I too am in the market for a small RV. I retire from my FT job in January (but will keep my PT job which I can do from anywhere that I have Internet) and am seriously considering a Class B or a small Class C.
I like the convenience of the trailer w/ a tow...
Update on the information from the seller:
Engine is a Ford 350, she doesn't know about the chassis or if it has overdrive. Her husband is out of town so I may get more definitive answers from him when he returns.
There was a leak at the front, but when they bought it they replaced all the...
I have asked engine and chassis questions as well as maintenance and leakage issues and am waiting for the answers. I hope it has the 5.7 if that is a good one! :-)
Hi all,
I am looking at a 1987 Laze Daze and would like your opinions...good and bad.
It is listed on RV Trader, $6,000.00 in North Hollywood. I can't look at it until Friday.
I know the age is considerable and the mileage is a factor (88,000) when thinking of repairs, etc.
It's the 2nd...
