    Questions about continuous duty solenoid

Thank you that's a ton of info and that addresses most of my concerns. I don't intend to idle to recharge but I figure it'd be a waste not to use the power I'm already generating while driving. What kind of amperage can I expect to move during bulk charge? I'm asking with choosing a proper fuse...

Trojan t105 vs Samsclub gc 2 Energizer golf batteries

I should really read up on Walmart/Sams battery return policies. It'd be a lot cheaper (just a little more hassle) to run those and not care about cycling them down to 80% and then replace them when they die.  Seems unethical, then again it's Walmart.

    Questions about continuous duty solenoid

So as I'm getting everything installed I picked up a continuous duty solenoid to keep my batteries topped up on days when I can't get good solar. Problem I have is that I have no idea how heavy cable I need or what fuse to put on it.  It will be about 20-25 feet to route the cable between my...

Looking for Input on LiFePo4 Batteries

This is why I'm asking questions. I'm familiar with electronics in general but have never built a solar system before. Some of this stuff relies on knowledge I haven't used in awhile.

    Water damaged vans?

I can't think of a scenario where that'd be a good idea. I mean if I was on truly hard times and it just fell into my lap, then yeah. Otherwise thing is, in many circumstances, it's sometimes really hard to tell that a vehicle has experienced water damage. That's why you need to look in...

Looking for Input on LiFePo4 Batteries

I think this will be where I end up going. There are some models that I could run for about 2-2.5x my planned costs. The initial cost will be steep but I feel I will be better off in the long run.

Does anybody have a picture of a high-top Vandura or G20 without side skirts?

I couldn't find exactly what I was hoping for so I found out the old fashioned way.  Before After: They actually came off ridiculously easy. One was so broken it barely was staying on. I'm happy with them off.

Does anybody have a picture of a high-top Vandura or G20 without side skirts?

I've been deciding whether to remove the running bars and skirts off my Vandura. Particularly because I plan to outfit it with a 2" lift and some bulkier tires. I want to know what it'd look like before I actually go through the effort of taking them off. I'm particularly interested in ones that...

Looking for Input on LiFePo4 Batteries

You guys are right. I forgot my high school science course and that wiring them in parallel you stack amperage and in series you stack voltage. That'd make them way out of my price range. I'm going to keep looking though and I really appreciate everyone providing helpful links. It appears that...

Looking for Input on LiFePo4 Batteries

So, I finally got my van back and, after tearing everything out, I've begun to lay out my electrical system and it's needs.  I have a few specific tech needs and plan to be be powering the following I'm trying to be generous with my estimates so that I'll end up with a good bit of wiggle room...

What to do with my factory rear heat/AC

Loose plans is ~300w solar. Would like to have some kind of low amp charger to keep things topped up when I'm within an extension cord's reach of available power.

    Doesn't have a name yet - Lizzarro's build thread

(In no particular order) Will check the seat thing tomorrow. Saw the Thermarest stuff. They have some pretty nice larger options. Pricey though. Either way those skirts need to go up. If they can't go up they go off. I'm planning the futon to be a series of slats alternating at a center...

What to do with my factory rear heat/AC

So I own a 92 Vandura Starcraft conversion. There's separate rear heat and A/C options that extend from the radiator and coolant lines. It all ties together really nicely in the back with some overhead vents and interior gear. I don't want to have to run the van to have rear A/C nor do I want to...

    Doesn't have a name yet - Lizzarro's build thread

For awhile, yes. Don't know how long that will be. Will figure that out when the time comes. Lol already on the list. What's the story with the mattress? I'm going for bedding that can be stowed when not in use. I want a good balance between storage and space while still having a fairly large...

    Doesn't have a name yet - Lizzarro's build thread

So, I'm skipping the newcomer thread and jumping to why I'm here. I bought a 1992 GMC Vandura 2500 Starcraft Conversion 125" wheelbase in Dark Teal Metallic. I bought the van for $750 and, as of this point have removed the seats and sent it to a local customs shop for some TLC, a...
