    Nothing sticks to Fiberglass

So I was able to insulate the mid part of my roof because I could screw into it but the front and back parts are straight up fiberglass and apparently you can't screw into that.  So I've tried reflectix with liquid nails and caulk but nothing will stick.  I'm thinking of resorting to something...

    This a good idea?

My electric system is quite simple.  Battery charger when plugged into shore power charges my marine/rv battery.  Then in order to use the electricity from the battery, I have a 2000 watt power inverter connected to it by cables.  Right now I'm running my lights, laptop, and phone off of it to...

    Archery Anyone?

I shoot recurve and will be taking my archery equipment with me when i travel so am looking for anyone's favorite spots to shoot a bow.  I have a mini foam target I can set up anywhere but am looking for recommendations on fun outdoor 3-d shoots or target ranges.  Anywhere in the country is fine.

    Shower Tent

Looking for recommendation on a sturdy shower tent.  I've looked at both the pop up and the kind with stakes.  I'm looking for something sturdy and rain proof that can stay up for weeks at a time because it will also double as storage for extra stuff I don't want in the van while camping.  Any...

    Free Drinking Water?

This is probably a stupid question...but... I know I can fill up a jug from a spigot outside a store or at a park with fresh water that can be used for cooking and cleaning, but can this same water also be put through a filter and used for drinking?  Or do most people buy their drinking water? ...

First time at RTR this year?

Hi all, This will be my first year at the RTR.  Finally doing it after years of putting it off but this year my van is ready and so am I.  I was curious how many other people this will be their first time as well.  I'm traveling solo from Virginia with my cat and hope to meet a few good people...

    Stealth in National Parks?

I wonder if anyone has tried stealth camping in the national parks, being as they are highly patrolled and only have pay sites for vehicles (i believe).  I read how one person does it at the hotel parking lots.  Was just curious if anyone has tried and if/where they had success...

    Upwork

I'm looking to get more jobs and upwork.com seems to be a reliable website for freelancing.  I've landed one entry level gig that rated me 5 stars to help boost my profile so far.  Was just curious if anyone else has had success on this website, how you went about landing a gig, or if you can...

    Mail on the Road

Wasn't sure which thread to put this in...sorry I do buy and sell some products on ebay and I buy wholesale, so large quantities.  If I'm on the road should I have the products sent to a nearby post office?  Do I notify that post office about incoming mail, is there a fee to pay for them to...

Need Van Builder in Virginia or close

So, turns out I really can't build worth a crap.  I tore the entire inside of my 2005 chevy express out, put some insulation in, but that's pretty much it.  The sides are too curved and too many windows to really build anything easily in there. I can barely hammer a nail so I'm looking for some...

    Solar for Battery Pack

Hi all  I need some suggestions for what solar panel I should buy off Amazon for this little guy https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200678034_200678034?adv=false I met a girl who had one just like it in her van at a festival and she used it to charge a small fridge...

    Feel safer urban boondocking?

I know it may not seem like it, but I actually feel a "bit" safter urban boondocking than camping out in the woods alone.  This is meerly due to the whole safety in numbers thing.  I feel like if I was alone in the woods and a group of guys saw me, they could decide I look like fun, and there's...

Recommendations for Employers at the big tent?

Wondering how good my prospects would be to land a job with one of the campgrounds at the big tent whilst there at the RTR.  I'm interested in camp hosting jobs, or any jobs to do with campgrounds, being as I work at one now as well (or at least till the end of my 2 weeks).  From what I gather...

    Keeping Cat Box Smell Down

This has probably been posted but just to refresh...how do you keep the cat box smell down?  I personally clean up after my cat every day on the road, and right after she goes #2.  But maybe someone has found a product that helps with the smell?  Sometimes if it's 3am and she goes #2, I just lie...

    Stock

I have stocks that I've bought and don't touch.  Netflix, Disney, Starbucks, and now Amazon.  I just did Amazon today, figured it was a good time with the christmas rush starting. What stocks do you invest in that you can recommend, for long term? Alternatively, I'd be interested in doing some...

    Many Conflicting Thoughts

Hey all... It's been a while, but hi again. My van build is going good.  Slow, but steady.  Taken a couple trips in it which have been a blast. I recently just got into a new relationship.  This is both exciting and terrifying because it means two things:  first, i'm excited to be in love...

    My Conversion van.....conversion

The van I bought is a 2005 Chevy E-1500 Conversion van.  I have set up a facebook page for anyone who wants to follow along on there.  I will be posting in here as well probably more direct van-build questions.  The facebook will act more like a "this is what's happening now" sort of thing.  I...

    I'm Converting my Chevy Suburban

I've decided to just use what I got.  I'm trading my 4Runner for my dad's Chevy Suburban, and going to make it comfortable enough to live out of.  It's big enough on the inside, especially length wise.  Head room isn't ideal.  But, like I said, just using what I already have.  For starters, at...
