    I bought my van!

Welcome! I recently finished my first full conversion and I'll be using what I've learned to do at least one more for myself... If you need any advice on building feel free to pm me! I'm happy to help.

    Hello fellow travellers!

Nope. You're going to need locking carabiners at the very least with all the bouncing around and you might have trouble finding a big enough one, but mine's rated for 400 lbs and that cbr600 weighs about that. I haven't had any issues though you might want air springs. I know I do, the back end...

    Newbie Nomad

I use the renogy 250w 24v panels with two eco worthy 400w (really 25a) mppt controllers. It's a little less than $1k before batteries and it was the best I could come up with for the price. That's with new panels though I'm sure you could find used ones cheaper.

    Hello fellow travellers!

Hah yeah it took a little engineering. With that setup I can connect to a hose bib or I can pump water from 5 gallon jugs into the reservoir. There's a grocery store near my work that sells 5 gallon refills for $1.75 so that's how we get water. My rig pulls about 400w fully loaded and I've been...

Yeah my wife and I share a cargo van conversion and while it's fun I can't say I recommend it unless you're both pretty small and limber. It's a tight fit for two! We might be upgrading to a MH in the next couple years. What are you considering for solar? A good powerful solar setup can be had...

Running van engine to Renogy solar charge controller

I use a Mr buddy mini heater when it gets chilly, it's quite safe, the ceramic catalytic type are safe to use indoors, and even has a low oxygen shut off. I use it every night and let the can run out. When the flame shuts off it closes the valve too it's great.

conversion van vs camper van.. stealth concerns

I don't have a lick of stealth to my rig and I manage just fine. You just have to park in places where people won't mind you camping, and move around a lot. The extra space and comfort is worth the extra planning imo, especially if you're going to be living there for a long time.

    Hello fellow travellers!

The space efficiency is exactly why I did it, it resides in an oddly shaped frame behind the driver's seat. Originally when I installed it I was a little concerned about it popping so I made sure to sand down any rough edges inside the frame and lined it with a thick tablecloth I had laying...

How can I run a CPAP in my tiny van?

Sealed agm batteries don't gas, but honestly lead acid won't either if you charge it properly. The gases aren't particularly toxic (hydrogen and oxygen from electrolysis) but they are highly flammable if they're allowed to concentrate in, say, a sealed battery box. As long as you use a vent/fan...

    setting up

It all depends on how handy you are and what quality of life and comforts you need. I'm sure you'll find plenty of resources here otherwise I can certainly give you some pointers.

    Hello fellow travellers!

It is a 100gal and it just gets partially filled. I have a copper stem for the pickup and a filtration system so my water always tastes better than bottled water, I did replace it about 6 months ago but since putting in this copper it hasn't smelled funky yet even in summer

    Hello fellow travellers!

My wife and I have been living in my e250 for almost a year now so I figure it's about time I showed up here :) I know a picture is worth a thousand words, but I might have to update later to show off. Van isn't clean and she won't have me posting pictures of a messy van XD. Setup right now...

How many watts of solar are you running and what kind of batteries?

500W in two panels, charging a pair of 8D batteries giving ~500ah of storage. Runs a mini fridge and tv/computer. I'm thinking about replacing my batteries soon though and upgrading to a trio of them.
