    Do you LOVE coffee?

The method we have used for the last two plus years on the road is still the best one I've come up with. The cleanup is effortless, the method is quick, and the results are decent. However, most people I've told about it are already set in their ways, so they stick with the known. We use 8-10...

    Serious Question on Water usage

We switched to top Raman noodles out here. After a little trial and error we now have the precise water ratio (1.25C) to leave no water. If a tiny bit left it's consumed by whatever sauce is added. While not textbook cooking the sacrifice seems worthwhile for the benefits. Starch seems minimal.

    Victron 150 l 70 tr question

My novice guess is that even though voltage was high the amps being generated was simply to small with the small flat array. Opinions?

    Victron 150 l 70 tr question

I purchased it as a replacement to a defective one from someone who bought a different brand. So new, but older stock, I think. A loaned dongle allowed us to update the firmware and verify settings. All good. However, I added another 200w portable system to the array and was able to get to float...

    Victron 150 l 70 tr question

Unfortunately since currently boondocking we do not have shore power available and the only gauges to work with is a voltometer and a small amp meter shunted to the battery bank. Deliveries of special cords are also limited. I may remove it tomorrow and go back to the PWM until i can figure this...

Bank was 12.5v. I do not have the special cord to tie to a computer USB port.

    Victron 150 l 70 tr question

I just installed a victron 150v 70a tr controller on a 200A AGM 12v system with 200w of solar in series. While the panels show 40 pls volts output the output from the controller will not exceed 13.1v with 3A and the controller will not switch out of bulk. I do not have a dongle to investigate...

    Dynamax REV

I read that the REV is within 50 pounds of max load on the right rear tire, which is where that nice big storage compartment is. The Winnebago version is said to be slightly lighter, but I'm betting not by enough to make it usable. They need dual tires on the back to handle the load being carried.

    B Class Dodge

Some of the better built Class C motorhomes are built well, like the Chinook, Born Free, or LazyDaze. But you could get one that is in good condition now and seal the snot out of the overhead before it springs a leak. Avoid anything with a forward facing window on the overhead since these are...

    Coffee solution!

Almost forgot to mention. Two stapled home made coffee bags in a 1qt thermos of hot water the night before makes good coffee for the next morning, and still, cleanup is a snap.

Rice & Beans on a Gas Stove?

We also love the pressure cooker method. They also makes a killer stew. A pressure cooker is almost a must have high in the mountains as water takes longer to boil at high altitudes without being under pressure.

    Coffee solution!

I think we finally stumbled onto the best solution for us. We either hated the taste, or cleanup, or cost, or equipment bulk of virtually every method we tried. Screens to wash out, or special filters to buy, or power draws and storage of some methods just didn't work for us. Now we use the...
