Spend the summer in the cool mountains of northern Arizona! Hired 2 vandwellers already and I still need one more person to work in the newly remodeled kitchen of our BBQ & pizza restaurant. Start early May, stay until at least 9/15 (possibly longer, if that’s what you want). Couples or singles...

    Broke down in Indiana

I worked there while in high school. Loved roaming the 2 floors of books between the 2 floors open to the public.

I'm workamping 40 min. south of Flag. Hired 2 van dwellers to help me in the kitchen. Found them on the vandwellers reddit. Hopefully, this will be the last of the snow!

How are you all doing in COVID-19 times?

I recently accepted a job as executive chef at a restaurant in the Coconino NF, just south of Flagstaff. I start 3/1 but took a drive up (I'm at Imperial dam LTVA) to speak to the owners in person re: my new menu, staffing, etc. The only AZ Health Dept. restaurant covid standards/precautions...

    Camping at Quartzite

I use Verizon and am at Imperial Dam away from the main road. My newer phone (S10+) gets 3 bars mostly. My older iPad (2nd gen Pro) gets 2 bars. Added a booster and the iPad is at 4 bars, the phone at 3-4, so well worth it to me.

How do you get moisture in during the bake? Do you use a high hydration recipe? I'm at Imperial Dam but would you consider giving a demo to a chef?

Moving back to the USA - Need Advice!

Monthly rates are much better. I'm in Capitan, New Mexico for the summer (leaving today). $240 a month plus electric (paid a total of 285-300, depending on a/c use), great Verizon signal, clean & spacious shower room, nearby laundry, grocery store, restaurants, national forest. So staying...

    Vehicle Registration / Mail forwarding

I registered my truck and trailer in SD via mail, through the mail forwarding company. I was working in CA at the time. There was a form that allowed me to keep my CA license. Three years later, I was going through SD, so got my license.

    recliner v sofa

I have a trailer. Removed part of the U-dinette and put in a recliner. Prob my best mod ever! Got it off of CL and it has a removable back, so install was easy. Slept on it one night during an overnight at a Walmart (I have a hybrid and didn't want to open it). That was horrible, though.

    Bob's cat video

I've been full-timing for 6 years now with my cat- 16YO, 19# male tabby. I use a harness from Crazy K Farms- the bright yellow one, and take him outside a few times a day. Sometimes he explores and sometimes he just sits. That's why I also bring along my Paperwhite.

    LTVA parking question

I am self-contained and dry camp experienced. I chose Imperial because I want to stay put for 3 months and it is close to good water, dump stations (I have a portable container, too), mail delivery, groceries, health care, and internet. Also big-ish city amenities (Chinese take-out, barber...

    LTVA parking question

I'm going to spend the winter in AZ, probably imperial Dam LTVA. This will be my first winter in an LTVA.  I know a lot of people go annually and get the same spot. Do they get upset if I arrive first and take their usual spot?

    Going #2 boondocking solutions.

I'm in a trailer with a 25 g black tank, but there are times when I needed to extend my stay- 3/20-5/20, for instance. Urine takes up a lot more volume. I got a urine bottle at CVS. It's easier to dump that and keeps your black tank going far longer. Of course, you need some liquid in the tank...

    Which way to go ?

Well, let's see. I bought an '02 GMC Yukon XL with 92000 miles for $4k. Replaced the Walmart tires with Michelins, fixed the a/c, plus battery and wiper blades. Only thing that failed was the starter. So I'm into it for around $6k.I now have 60,000 miles of full-timing over 3 years. With WD, it...

Trying To Find A Job And Failing Badly

As a 60-something cook, I understand how hard it is. That is a job that takes a month or two before your body adapts. Even then, a bourbon or two is sometimes needed at the end of the shift. But I find it very rewarding to feed people. Plus, I've been making $18-20 an hour, plus full hook ups...
