Buying and using land without attracting attention

Some jurisdictions are extremely lax on property usage as long as some tax revenue is coming in. Others, not so much. Assuming Mr. Wells researched the specific area before shelling out $$ to buy?

    Shocks/struts repair Vancouver BC

Sounds extremely high to me but, Canadian automotive parts and shop labor could be why this sounds stratospheric financially? Not sure the year or engine option in your ride but ask them how much if you supplied the struts...

Hi all. Feeling thankful for all that I have.

x2 on welcome. Amazing, the difference between a cooler using ice, and a 12 volt frige/freezer. No more trips to a store to buy ice. The money saved on constantly buying ice, gas to store, etc., vs the 12v. unit, really adds up if full timing...

Sold Ford Econoline 08 with 11,600 miles !!!

Nice rig, no doubt. That mileage is insane, for the year! The buildout looks professional and not just "cobbed" together in someone's backyard. Looks like a good fit for someone needing a "turn-key" vehicle that is ready to go upon purchase. Good luck on your sale, and please get back on here...

    Solving my tire problems

Handy tool if one has the physical ability to heft a tire/rim combo around on the side of the road. Along with a jack, properly placed I might add! (Think safety at all times). In my younger years it was totally doable. Not so much today. That's what AAA is for. Never go out without it!

COMPLETE 2022 Vanlife Gatherings, Events and Meetups

Thanks for posting the info keknittle. Looks like there's an event in NH close to me at the end of the month I'll have to check out! $75.00 camping fee without hookups is a stretch, so I won't do an overnight, but a $10.00 weekend pass is doable...

Starlink - The Movie - Is Starlink Any Good? Good For Nomads?? From a Nomad using 6 months.

Please do a follow-on video to compare the current day SL roaming service to what it is 6 months from today. Preferably in 12 months, but 6 is good for those of us with short attention spans!

    End homelessness San Diego !

California has never been friendly to vehicle dwellers. Especially in its bigger cities. The countryside away from bigger cities is exceptional there, but the same could be said most anywhere in the USofA, really.

    2012 Ford ecoline e350 v8

If it lived its life anywhere that they use salt or another ice melting compound, probably not. Especially if you are not in a position financially to get it roadworthy again, as it could quickly turn into a bottomless "money~pit". But good luck to you if you pursue it further...

Seeking advice on a Chevy Express / GMC Savana

For what it's worth, I have recently heard that the newer 8-speed transmission is having many problems, and a recall on all vehicles equipped with it is highly likely. Worth more investigation before spending big $$ on a new van only to have it in the repair shop more often than usual/customary...

Seeking advice on a Chevy Express / GMC Savana

If you are looking at the lowest maintenance option and your financial situation can support it, buy new. The warranty security goes a long way, since most folks simply can't work on their vehicles themselves. While not personally knowing your mechanical ability, anything beyond basic fluid...

    Probably leaving the forum

Forums cost money to run. Advertisers $$ only goes so far. For those that can help out financially, $20 isn't the end of the world. For more frugal folks, the "lights" are still on for them here as far as I can tell...

Starlink - The Scoop From A Nomad

Usually if it sounds too good to be true, it turns out badly. In the case of Starlink it certainly sounds good, but there are still minor operational technicalities that should get ironed out in time. I'll let those Beta folks enjoy the current technology for the time being and look at it again...

How soon will electric or hybrid vans/RVs be common?

In time the technology will emerge to the point of viability over IC technology. "In time" being the key words!!!

"VISIBLE" cell service party pay. Caveats? Pitfalls?

Been using it for 2 years now and only a couple times when unable to make a call. Not a big data user so nothing to say + or - on its virtues. I'd recommend it simply based on monthly cost, without having to worry about using "minutes" or any other restrictions...

Feasibility of filtering gray water for drinking again, using a gravity-fed filter system?

Drinking "gray" water just sounds bad. Hard pass on me being the taste tester. Sorry OP...

    Charge Jackery While Driving

If you do a lot of driving, charging from a vehicle cig lighter socket might work. Otherwise you'll likely need an outside source for charging the Jackery. I have the same unit and I can charge it while driving, but I don't typically drive more than a couple hours at most, once or twice a week...
