Why the Dearth of Mini-Class C RVs???

I'm still looking, thinking, pondering and wondering.  Funny how people say that too many want all the things they have at home in a small space.  I'm stuck with some sort of Alice in the Trailer version of that.  At home, all of my cooking in the past 3 years has been done in a rice cooker. ...

It all makes you wonder why the US is about to double the import duty on Canadian lumber.

Choose only one to have: house or car

I'm in limbo right now.   It would be a good time to be making some plans but I've already passed 60 without doing that.  Why start now?  I have absolutely no idea what the future holds other than at least a few more months dealing with lawyers, insurance, medications and change.  It's been...

    2000 Toyota Camry

This is a 2 door Saturn I used to roam the world with.  The right back seat was the living and dining room.  The left rear seat and part of the trunk were the bed.  From the bed side I could fold down the right seat to pull out items in the trunk.  A piece of 2x6 foot plywood made the bed with a...

Using a Slide in Camper as offgrid Cabin

    24/7 Chat About Anything

Each year we have problems in BC with land sliding onto highways or highways sliding into river.  A few years ago the Trans Canada Highway, east of Vancouver was covered or washed away in both direction as well as the forested areas between east and west.  There is another fairly significant...

How "cheap" are you actually living?

In British Columbia we have a system of provincial Recreation Sites and Trails.  These are in addition to Provincial Parks.  There are many hundreds of them.  I've stayed at dozens.  The larger sites, closer to urban areas usually charge between $12 and $18 per night.  Large numbers of them...

    Width for bed slats?

When I've made cots or beds I've always used 1x4 or 1x6 and left spaces between them of a similar size.  If you are going to be moving around on top of it you could cover the slats with pegboard to allow weight distribution between the slats as well as allowing air to get under the mattress. MG

    Vaccinations for van dwellers

The last huge pandemic was the one that started in Kansas in 1918.  They didn't have a treatment.  They didn't have a vaccine.  They just put more and more soldiers on trains and ships and sent them to Europe.  Best estimates are that somewhere between 50 and 100 million people died.  I got my...
