    Slab City

Heroin, meth, thieves, arsonists and possible rapists?! WTF, man? Geez, everything you said (in red above) makes that place sound like hell. Why go there when there are so many beautiful quiet and safe places to hang out in the US?

Ok, I'm pullin' the trigger on a power station........

I've been living on the road full time for 1.5 years with two Delta 1300's charged by two fixed 100 watt Renogy panels. (My next build will have 600 watts and panels that tilt. Stove is alcohol and lights are AA battery powered pucks. Biggest energy suck by far is my Iceco VL60 fridge/freezer.)...

Almost Free No Data Caps Internet T.V. And Movies

I pay $25 a month for Visible. For new users there are two plans available now for $30 and $40.

Almost Free No Data Caps Internet T.V. And Movies

I get it but Visible at $25 a month does what I need 98% of the time and the other 2% is when I use Starbucks or the library.

Almost Free No Data Caps Internet T.V. And Movies

I have 4 bars at the moment, which is rare, and just did a speed test on my Macbook Pro using my iPhone as a hotspot. I got 5.07 Mbps download and 4.51 Mbps upload. Speeds fluctuate so I immediately tested again and download was only 1Mbps. In spite of the momentary lower speeds, I have never...

Almost Free No Data Caps Internet T.V. And Movies

I've been using Visible for over 1 1/2 years and couldn't be happier with it. Last time I looked (probably a year ago) I was using over 150+ GB's of video, etc. every month and rarely buffer. Pretty sure no one can beat the $25.00 a month I pay for phone and TRUE unlimited data. (The rest are...

    Registering and voting

It was like a temporary sugar high. The Depression was prolonged due to years of government intervention / spending.

    Registering and voting

You are 100% correct. Wars destroy millions of innocent lives and families, squander precious natural resources and require massive "printing" of money that makes the currency worth less (inflation) which enslaves future generations with debt. I would argue that the only just war in US history...

    Registering and voting

My two cents... Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to eat for dinner. So, please, if your unresolved childhood trauma issues compel YOU to vote for anyone that pushes any variant of authoritarianism, or any thing that raises taxes and thus destroys our liberties, then PLEASE DO...

Questions about buying and building a BOX VAN into a full-time traveling tiny home…

Thanks but I really don’t want to get into removing and then disposing of the house part of a Class C motor home and then finding another box, etc., etc. I’d rather just start with an existing box van.

"VISIBLE" cell service party pay. Caveats? Pitfalls?

Do you share your Visible Party Plan link at Reddit ( https://visible.com/p/111-867-5309 ) to get it down to only $25 per month? How does that work?

Questions about buying and building a BOX VAN into a full-time traveling tiny home…

I have been living full-time in a very well thought out and designed and as functional and comfortable and aesthetically pleasing as possible 2006 Toyota Sienna minivan for the last 16 months. It’s been okay but now I want standing headroom, a real kitchen, shower and bed with lots of storage. I...

"VISIBLE" cell service party pay. Caveats? Pitfalls?

I have been living on the road for one year and been using Visible since March of 2021 (15 months) now and am very happy with it. Unlike other third party cellphone providers (Cricket, Boost, etc.) Visible is actually owned by Verizon. It's called "deprioritized," and yet, I have only had maybe...

    Opinions from Ram ProMaster owners

Just read this thread because I might buy a Promaster but there are two things that I don’t understand... 1) Since front wheel drive pulls, why isn't the Promaster BETTER in sand and snow vs a rear wheel drive van? 2) Since it lacks a rear wheel drive differential (usually the lowest point on...

✅ MECHANICS: Which is more reliable and easier to work on - Ford Transit or Dodge Promaster?

Why not? Probably eats tires but FWD should be better in sand and snow, right?

    Promaster city or Transit Connect

Thanks. I measured my 06 Sienna and with 1/4” thick vinyl plank flooring I have about 48.5” at the highest point just behind the front seats. I’m 5’-11” and made the couch that unfolds into a bed so I have sitting headroom and lots of storage underneath. I want to get a full size tall van next...

    Promaster city or Transit Connect

I don’t want to hijack this thread so I started a new one because I have a few questions for mechanics regarding the full size Ford Transit and Dodge Peomaster here...

✅ MECHANICS: Which is more reliable and easier to work on - Ford Transit or Dodge Promaster?

MECHANICS: In your personal experience and from what you’ve heard from reliable sources, here are questions about the FULL SIZE Ford Transit vs the Dodge Promaster... 1) Which engine is more reliable? 2) Which engine is easier for NON mechanics to maintain (oil, oil filter, plugs, change trans...

    Promaster city or Transit Connect

Both of those are kinda tall so does that mean they have standing headroom? If you only have sitting headroom then for the sake of a quality and reliability, I would without question get a Toyota Sienna instead. I converted my 06 Sienna into a super cool mini camper with a highly functional...

Do I really need to tint the windows?

I wouldn’t bother with tint. I made black out window covers (reflectix w/ flat black cloth laminated to outside) for my Sienna. I assumed I would remove them each morning but haven’t in the 7 months I’ve been living in it.
