What's your favorite mod/mods in you van?

My 2 favorite: *1000watt MSW inverter and an extra (total of 2) house battery.  Allows me to use the microwave and a toaster (not at same time) for short periods--without annoying my neighbors  with a generator. *Removable outside solar screens for windshield, back and side windows.  Just...

    Solar Cooking?

I enjoy solar cooking but prefer the bread I bake in a reflector-type oven--small campfire required however.  Link: https://vanlivingforum.com/Thread-Campfire-Bread-Baking

    Choosing the BEST SEALANT

Danman welcome  to the forums.  I assume you meant Vacuum Insulated Panels (?).  I was wondering when someone would be creative enough to try something like this--along with the Aerogel fabric.   It's too bad there is not a world wide push to make these cheaper and more common-- like is...

    Opinel

I keep a small one in my daypack.  So far no complaints--use it to cut up apples/cheese etc.

    Boosting(?) Solar Panel Output

Curious if anyone has tried adding a reflective mylar tarp  to boost EV panel output.  After a little 'googling' I found this example: http://geo-dome.co.uk/article.asp?uname=solar_mirror A reflective-mylar tarp 'strategically placed' might be a cheap way to increase amps during winter/low sun...

    Refillable 1lb Propane Cylinders

I've been refilling the 'disposable' 1# bottles for several years now for personnel  use.  One thing I noticed is that some (but not all) of these bottles start to slowly loose pressure after about 15-20 refills.   I now only keep them for about 10 refill 'cycle's and then dispose/recycle them...

    DVD swapping

Some campgrounds have small "open Libraries"  where books and dvds can be borrowed--or exchanged with something you want to pass on.  The CG in Organ Pipe National Monument (southern AZ) for example has one of these.   It's in a small kiosk near the first camping loop.  I've left a few dvds...

    Microwave Oven

My RoadTrek came with a "Danby" (Canadian?) Microwave that works just fine on my Xantrex 1000 watt (modified sign wave) inverter.  I usually run the engine also when I'm using it for more than 20-30 seconds--to add a few extra amps to my two original 12V house batteries.   Can't beat a...

here's what I expect for electrics in my conversion van

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I've been running the small microwave in our RT190--with two 12 volt gel cells and a Xantrex 1000 watt (1200 surge)  MSW inverter (Costco).   My batteries are old and I normally only use the inverter when the engine is running--to get a few extra amps.   Even...
