    Well, that's not normal

Took truck to shop today and had complete inspection done. Lower ball joint, brake fluid flush and stabilizer bar pins for a total of $1150. Not bad enough for doing shorter trips but needed for extended trip we have planned for next month. Headed out tomorrow for 12 day road trip in home state...

Montana town of grizzly attack a popular stop for cyclists

I would think if you're going to camp in a tent in bear county that they would have known the triangle campsite setup. I was taught to have food area 90 feet away from site, sleeping, and bathroom also separated by 90 feet away from each other as well.

Profits over common good as there is a lack of competition between manufactures

That's why I hate vehicles with computers that control everything. If it messes up you have to get specific parts that aren't interchangeable. If you have an older vehicle then the parts you need may have been discontinued or have to be custom made by a shop. I've experienced both spectrums and...

    Well, that's not normal

In the last 5 years I have invested around $10,000 in maintenance and upgrades. I am not unfamiliar with unexpected repairs lol. It's my life story and it's a funny story. When we first went out I got bad gas and then truck had trouble starting but both issues were fixable for less than $15 and...

    Well, that's not normal

:-/ We finally got our truck ready to go and this happened. We were driving along the highway going around a left hand curve at 65 m.p.h. and the passenger side front tire was shaking so bad I thought the whole thing was going to fall apart and break up. Taking it to shop this Friday to have it...

Probably not your typical cheap rvliving persons

Welcome, totally understand about being bored and although there's nice camping areas in paradise it gets old quick when there's not alot of choices and you keep going to the same spots over and over. There's many opportunities here on the mainland, weather permitting. Hopefully we'll meet on...

    4x4 not working

My 4x4 works but only 4 low. Turned out it was the spindle that needed replacing. Never trust idiot lights on dash.

    Hey Y’all !

Welcome to the forums. Sounds like you're getting in good practice by boondocking in your home base area. Would suggest making sure your rig has had all maintenance done before leaving out of area and include preventative maintenance. Having an emergency fund is also helpful in case of...

Stuck between a rock and crazy place

My dad had a reverse mortgage on his house and had nothing but trouble with the company that he went through. The person who was going to move in has also backed out from helping so we're going to rely on my wife's son and our neighbors to keep an eye on things when we're out.

    Out-of-state credit card usage problems?

We've not had any problems with our Debit card as we inform our bank when we're traveling as far as credit cards we don't have any so don't know.

    We just can't quit

Last year my wife and I went to Yellowstone and my dad asked us to check out the Grand Tetons because he hadn't been there in many years and was no longer able to travel. He was very supportive of us traveling the country. He was a truck driver when I was a kid and would save all his pennies for...
