    Preparing for mobile life, options/suggestions?

One more thing. Should I go the RV park route, should I worry about resell value? I don't want to spend too much money on a temporary trailer, however I also don't want to lose the money and want to be able to sell it after I'm ready to move on to the next chapter. Thanks so much!

    Preparing for mobile life, options/suggestions?

Thanks Bob! Read your book a year ago, loved it. :) Yes, Red pill please. This is actually my current job just not at Amazon of course - http://www.amazon.jobs/jobs/191607/contracts-manager How do I find details of the Dallas Amazon fulfillment center? I would love to be able to do my...

    Preparing for mobile life, options/suggestions?

Thanks! Yes, very true, I was just going on the Kelly Blue Book value. It would be a Honda Certified used car (one owner) as well, so there's that. I have also flirted with the idea of selling it to get a Class B to use to commute to work (again i would live 10 minutes from work), so that I...

    Preparing for mobile life, options/suggestions?

I hadn't thought of the insurance, good point. I'll check that out. Thanks! Well not only would be rent be reduced, so would my energy bill. $340 over a year is over $4K. And it would force me to downsize my stuff, and live in a smaller unit preparing me to practice what I preach. I hate...

    Preparing for mobile life, options/suggestions?

Yes, her blog is bookmarked and I've commented a few times. I don't plan on cashing out my 401(k), just the thought of the tax penalty alone boils my blood. But I was just stating that I have been responsible and thinking about my future. I just CANNOT spend the next 30 years sitting in a...

    Preparing for mobile life, options/suggestions?

I planned on keeping the Accord as long as I could. Or as long as it took me to save $ to get the hell outta dodge. Which seems to be years away. :( ugh. I thought about having someone tow the trailer to the RV park, but practically I wouldn't be saving money on rent w/ high lot fees and...

    Preparing for mobile life, options/suggestions?

Crazy that this section is the most active.  What a growing community! :) Hi everyone.  I'm a 36 year old single female living alone in Dallas, TX and I have spent the past year minimizing, dreaming of being mobile and doing all I can to get ready.  I just got a large bonus at work and it's...

Find Local Stealth Laws??(Parking, Living, Sleeping, Camping)

Agree with OP. It really shouldn't be that hard to find, but it is. It is usually buried and takes too much time.

    Secret Shopper or Mystery Shopper

UPDATE: Yup, it was the ol' MoneyGram scam. I was sent a package with a $2700 check w/ wiring instructions. Ripped it up and threw it away. Oh well, I'm sure there are some legit SS gigs out there. Just not this one. :dodgy:

Health experts recommend standing up at desk... LEAVING FOREVER!

Naw Grant, I have a better idea. Go to Goodwill or something and buy a cheap fax machine (or any office product, ha!) and take it out in the field with a baseball bat paying homage to Office Space. That would be so cathartic. That machine would represent all the ******** and stress that you...

Well it's been a week and the guy never replied back to my email, so I guess it was spam.

    Flexjobs

I did a search in this forum and came up with nothing. The thread subject website is a subscription based service but it seems like it has some potential. I found some freelance/telecommuting work in my field but not sure if it's worth the extra money with so many free sites out there. You...

    Secret Shopper or Mystery Shopper

Thanks for the responses everyone. I saw the scam about the Money Order transaction. But this doesn't look like that. I sent in my name and contact info so we'll see. I will not send any important stuff or money for sure!

Cyndi - I need to start living on a budget NOW while I have the time and the money/job. I was thinking $700/month would be a good starting point but having never full timed before, what the heck do I know. Yes, I am currently working on not only a nice emergency savings account, I am working...

    Budget advice for newbs

So, to the seasoned dwellers... When you originally started your journey to freedom, you set up a budget and tried to live it. As you lived and experienced life on the road or stationary, what did you realize that your budget wasn't covering? What advice would you give to yourself (and us...

    Secret Shopper or Mystery Shopper

I recently got an email for a "Job Offer" from The Premier Mystery Shopping Company. Does anyone have any experience w/ this company or this job? If so, is it worth it? I am aware of the scams out there but this job offer is only worth up to $200.
