confused on inside power source !

The first question is what sort of fridge do you have now? You want a 12v compressor fridge and definitely not the thermoelectric type. I would put a priority on the solar panel. The big 24v 60/72 cell panels are great, but expensive to ship. A lot of people use SanTan solar in Phoenix...

    Can I run a 24V / 3.75A CPAP off my 75A/hr AGM?

The power rating is the maximum use. The biggest way to cut power consumption is NOT to use the humidifier. Also, the various pressure flex techs in newer machines reduce power usage. My relatively high pressure setting consumes less than 1 amp at 12v, again without a humidifier.

I’m not in a position to donate, but I am listening to KGFN right now. Pokey LaFarge.

Buying a tiny home/trailer/getting help from habitat from humanity as backup

That plan b is important. Do realize there are two forms of federally subsidized housing, project and non-project. Section 8 is non-project and can be used with anyone who will takes it and meets basic standards. Availability of each varies. Get on the waiting lists in a place where you...

calling china for warranties or support???

If anyone has direct experience with both the Epever and the Victron Controllers it would be great to see a head to head comparison. Support on the Victron's is good. I believe those are the two main choices in the current market. FWIW, I think that battery first thing may be dated. What...

    Invertor and charger recommendations

Will Prowse’s YouTube channel and website have recommendations. His diysolar forum is also good. I just bought a gowise 600w, but haven’t used it for long.

    Pop-up Canopy Tent

The clam style tents have lots of fans. I’m in a similar situation, but fortunately I don’t need to do it often.

Need help with upgrading to lithium battery to install a 1500 watt inverter

Yeah, direct wire to the inverter with a separate fuse.

    RIP highdesertranger

So many of us have had our paths made just a little bit smoother in so many ways from his contributions. Certainly I have. Thank you.

fuse block to jackery: wire and fuse sizing

If you want switches, you want a switch. Wire sizing is important, but your loads are small. There are many guides/tables. Ten gauge is convenient and works for most short run van installations. A Jackery ciggy port isn’t ideal for this, do be careful not to overload it. Likely at...

Using gutter-mounted roof-rack mounts for solar?

I’ve installed just one of those 60-72 cell 24v panels this year, love it. If you can pick up from the warehouse they are much cheaper, but harder to ship. A lot of folks like San Tan Solar in Phoenix. Panels are cheap enough to just leave in place, unless the move is permanent. Do move...

install in phases instead of all at once.

The LiFePo4 market is getting competitive, you might well be able to do everything at one pass if you shop around. There of course are folks that will go out of business too.

Paths from California to east coast while avoiding stretches longer than 2-3.hr with

That’s a good question. It’s certainly easy in the west. I’d look at three general routes. Along the coast, in a cooler season, is probably best. There might well be a longer day or two along the way - or a hotel. If you rest up before and after you could likely keep the same pace. The...

    4patriot solar 'generator'

The LiFePo4 market is now definitely good, but with some risks. SOK is another option to the Ampere Time, I believe with a low temp cut off. I and a number of others have purchased the 300wh GoLabs Power Station at 200 and change. I personally went with the Alibaba method using the diysolar...

    Mppt controller under $100

Going to overpaneling, I made a bit of an error in planning my system and have a Victron 75/15 on a 385 watt 24v panel, which is a fine input rating but the 12v output is also limited to 15 amps. Hopefully I’m good. We shall see.

Back with a Fire Sale SOLD!

I've heard others speak well of that duel fuel Champion, specifically the propane. I'd take the time until winter season to figure out how to deal with everything, if possible. Parting out in Quartzsite might be worth considering. Good luck.

    Activism for those less fortunate

I spent one winter in home town in a shelter and also made similar friends and experiences.  It was a good experience, but you don't want to stay there if you can avoid it.  Generally, the folks that don't drink all find 'god', the one's who do, the 'devil'. Making the presumption that all are...

    Venting AGM battery

Common wisdom says that lead acid only outgasses when it is being charged, not when you are sleeping typically. I slept within a foot of one for over a decade and never noticed anything. A reasonable amount of ventilation is a good idea generally. I don’t know any specifics on agm.

Life after vanlife, how to adjust back?

I'm presumably quite a bit older than you and have done it. I still get out about 5 months a year and just having my rig ready to go in the parking lot is a big comfort.
