Nature Lover and friends keep in touch

It looks like you might be able to replace the camera body for $300 or less off eBay. Just check seller ratings and return policies. Use a credit card with buyer protection if you have one. A65 on eBay Also know about high shutter count, and the extra storage it requires, lol. I shoot mostly...

    The perfect length?

Sounds like a Ford Transit High Top Cargo 250 or 350 would well suit your purposes. I believe its wider and might allow sleeping across instead of lengthways. The height and ease of driving are great. Not expensive to fix vs Mercedes. Humble Road (I believe) has a good comparison video on...

    RIP highdesertranger

I'm camping with you in spirit! HDR, Mike, was an amazing guy. His knowledge and helpfulness continues to inspire me. I often find myself thinking"what would HDR do/say" as I'm planning my camper restoration and eventual travels. Happy travels and big nuggets in the Beyond, Mike! 🍻

    Paralysis by Analysis

Don't overlook a box van or ambulance either. Ambulances have great built in storage and insulation. Box vans are easy to build in because of square, flat sides.

Sorry to hear about the camera. Been there myself. I have the first Minolta Digital slr the 7D(?). It still has a bladed shutter and while cleaning the sensor I fd-up the blades. Got thousands $$ in lenses but cant afford the newer Sony A series bodies and the LEA4 adapter. Do you know what...

    Battery drain

Battery connections are important too. I had to have new clamps put on my battery wiring recently. They seemed tight, but were just loose enough to not properly charge/start the van.

    T-Mobile Mifi M2000 Insego

I'm not familiar with the tech, sorry. Does it have a sim card that you can swap to another device? That way you can keep the plan? Wish I could be of more help.

Where do you shower (when you don't have a shower in your van)?

If you use a masonry mixing tub you pour it from a corner of the tub into a bucket or through a funnel to a jug. Or just dump the tub. If you use the collapsible dog pool Cosmik or I linked above it has a drain valve.

✅ Are you urban stealth camping in your TALL Transit, Promaster or Sprinter?

Do you often see similar rigs to what you want parked where you currently stalth park? Do they get hassled? Do they just park in more industrial areas? Would you mind doing the same? Asking yourself such questions will probably give you the answers you need.

Where do you shower (when you don't have a shower in your van)?

Grey water in a city is easy. Park over a drain and open the valve. Dont leave a hose attached and open. Dump it down a drain from bucket or jug. Water treatment plants have ho problem with GREY. Black tank is a whole different thing.

An actual analysis of the cost difference between heating with Propane vs Diesel fuels

I know that SlimPotatohead on YT has made a wood pellet stove out of a 50cal ammo box. He has a series of videos on its construction and setup and usage. He uses one of the magnetic convection fans to help disperse the heat in his very small fiberglass camper. Here's a link to another...

Where do you shower (when you don't have a shower in your van)?

This collapsible pool seems to be the upgraded 2021 version. It's walls and drain have been improved.

Just came across an interesting article. Sewage Energy Thinking about solo nomads who use composting toilets. And no burn ban in effect.

I'm a big fan of the almond myself. I've often seen Dr Bs at Marshall's and TJ Maxx for less than most places.
