Wages and Unions - moved from: Things to do to keep feeling "normal" while living out of your van?

Many of the posts that I moved into this new thread are political but I haven't deleted any of them because all of you are doing a great job of being civil while discussing wages and unions. Carry on!

    Van camping in Michigan

We didn't stay here but stopped to check it out on our way through Michigan. Very nice but it looks like it closes on September 15. https://freecampsites.net/#!22912&query=sitedetails

    Cowboy Trail

You should be proud of yourself! You made it pretty far along the trail and honestly, it was probably the best part of it. The sandhills are amazing but they go for a long stretch and with no shade it would be brutal for hiking. Spring or fall might be a better time to do the trail. The people...

    Cowboy Trail

Kudos to you for tackling this trail! We've been traveling across Nebraska along US 20 and noticed the old railbed but didn't connect it to the Cowboy Trail until a few days ago. Are you going all the way to Valentine? We stayed at the city park in Valentine for two days waiting for cooler...

    Social security

We really don't want to delete posts however discussing politics usually causes arguments and to keep the forum peaceful and civil the moderators have no choice but to delete. Sometimes posts are deleted because they are in the middle of an argument and don't make sense on their own. Here are a...

    24/7 Chat About Anything

I removed some posts because they were becoming argumentative. Please avoid debating about the homeless issue in this thread because the posts will most likely get deleted. It's an unsolvable issue, at least by us.

Thanks for posting this! One of the many things that I didn't know existed. :D I get a warning about a virus when I click on the link but Al Christensen did an interview post on Bob Well's blog...

    Found this for vehicle security

Sorry guys! I have no idea what happened here. I deleted two posts - one because it was a quote without anything added and the other was a "delete" request by the poster. It must have been some kind of strange glitch because mods must check off a post before it can be deleted. There's no way...

EVERY state is required to allow homeless residents to get driver's license

This was posted in the HOWA facebook group in answer to a question. This is the first time I've seen this information. Should be helpful to a lot of people. "ACTUAL SOLUTION: DLD-128 Declaration of Homeless Status https://dmv.nv.gov/pdfforms/dmv128.pdf. EVERY state is required to allow...

Parking in a "commercial" vehicle or RV

If you want to spend time in specific cities do a Google search for oversize parking regulations. They're usually very detailed. We've been living and traveling in a 25' RV for many years and rarely run into problems parking in cities for the day but sometimes it requires research beforehand...

This throws a bad light on RVs. News from Seattle

Homeless people living in RVs, vans, trucks, or cars are not the same as nomads living in RVs, vans, trucks, and cars. This is a problem of homeslessness not a problem of RV ownership or van, truck, and car ownership.
