    First Police Encounter...

Uh oh...I'm doomed. I guess I'll have to started mumbling louder so they hear I'm just trying to find my keys, or my pen, or my sunglasses, or whatever was just in my hands a second ago that I can no longer find; not a machete or anything.[emoji6]

    astro or e150/e250?

I'm not trying to be sarcastic but it's gonna sound that way. Just trying to understand. Your flying from Thailand. Does it really matter where to land and buy your vehicle, especially if it's along your trip route? Obviously you don't have to explain yourself. Just thought maybe you could shift...

I've tried to answer my own question but...

Thank you BBJ & SW for taking the time to write such detailed replies. I have read them slowly and will reread them again. For the most part I understood most of what you have stated. I'll go over it again & ask any questions that might pop up. I just wanted to let you know how deeply...

    new guy here

Hiya Gary. I'm currently living in the same general area as you. Seems like there are quite a few of us, whether in OR or the PNW. Must be something in the water :) Welcome

    For those with cats....scratching posts

http://m.instructables.com/id/Cardboard-Cat-Bed/ I want to do something like this (in another shape) and possibly attach it to a jute covered post. My cats like the jute and one loves the cardboard. Maybe get a remnant and cover a cardboard tube with it. Actually, PVC tube would more likely...

First Post - Question about Renogy Bendable Solar Panel

Welcome Ancientonerider. I was recently eying those myself. I was wondering if they would work on top of a Thule cargo carrier. I'm in a conversion van & will be fulltiming locally so while I'm not overly concerned about stealth, I don't want to mount a sheet of plywood to the top of my van and...

    Thaiger Van - 97 Ford E150

AT - so it sounds like it's finally melting up there since your van is in the shop. I'm happy for you but I'll miss all your posts once you start getting busy on your van. Can't wait to see it decked out though! Sorry OP for this off the topic comment.

    Sisters on the fly experience?

I looked them up this morning because of this thread. One if their few rules is no animals. If fulltiming with animals that would make it difficult to fully engage. But that might not be such a bad thing. When I looked at their upcoming trip it was posted they are staying at a $38 a night...

How much space do you allot for clothing?

Bryan - it made me chuckle when I read it but I don't often just respond to say LOL. Just me, don't feel like it didn't go over. Actually, your response to back track made me laugh even more. Brent - could you give me more details on your 12v water heater. I've been looking at the reviews on...

I've tried to answer my own question but...

Yes, today I've been playing with my kill-a-watt that I borrowed from the local library yesterday. The small dehumidifier and the heating pad is the reason I'm considering getting a house battery at all. Everything else I could easily charge on a power strip wherever I happen to be. That being...

    Hi from Montreal, Quebec

Welcome! Stage 2 sounds great, like you're putting icing on the cake. Enjoy your summer excursions and if you decide to head to Arizona for the winter maybe you'll get to the next RTR. Cheers

    how to remove seat riser

Lee what are fur bolts? I googled the term but only received hits for animal fur. When I removed my passenger seat from my full size van, I removed the seat first. That gave me access to the threaded bolts that held the riser to the floor. Mine was pretty easy except one bolt that wouldn't budge.

    Free E books

How utterly timely, for me anyways. I don't always say it every time you post a free eBook but I always think it: I'm very appreciative of your efforts. Thank you sincerely!

I've tried to answer my own question but...

Yes the limited time to edit is really a bummer. I'm getting a Kill a watt kit from the library to monitor my energy consumption. I've already thought of what I'll need to use and for how long most days. Just need the hard numbers now. No microwave, fridge or TV. Just phone and a Chromebook...

I've tried to answer my own question but...

I'm trying to answer my own question but my electrical and automotive ignorance is really a handicap. Ultimately I'm trying to find out how much driving I need to do to keep a set of 6v GC batteries reasonably happy. I've read so much on batteries and their maintenance that I'm trying to decide...

How much space do you allot for clothing?

Thanks for the virtual look into your closets. I think I, too, struggle with letting go of clothes that I no longer fit in or use because of fear of scarcity or needing something down the road. Case in point, I recently have lost weight so that I'm down 3 pant sizes. I have very few clothes that...

    Storing herbs & spices

Thanks for the discussion everyone. I'll stick with the glass jars the spices came in and a few jars I saved or picked up inexpensively. I like the rubber band idea. Add labels to the lids and find a shoe box that will hold them and I'll be all set.

    Hello

Welcome Zeke. Good luck as you start looking for a vehicle. It'll be nice to hear all about your adventures. Planning is fun & maddening at the same time. Enjoy.
