Care to have your story shared?

I'd have no problem doing an interview but I don't have the experience your looking for. I'm so very new to this that I've only taken 1 camping trip in my van and I'm still living in an apartment. If you still want to interview me feel free to PM me. Personally I'm surprised that more people...

    Hello

Hi Ella1. Welcome. The trial trip is a great learning experience. I spent 5 days last month camping with friends. I made lots of notes and a few changes for when I go fulltime based on that trip. It was fun too! Mostly it gave me peace of mind that I could do it and I really was OK with moving...

Feeding canned food to conserve water

I've noticed a lot of cats do this. As far as supplements, I only add the glucosomine and chondroitin. I was noticing my elder cat was walking stiff and getting up slower. I was concerned about arthritic pain. He's been on it 8-9 months and is almost as spry as a kitten now. My vet ordered it...

I've tried to answer my own question but...

SW-one of my best friends lives in SD, as I used to years ago. When I make the trip to see her I'll look you up and buy you a beer and a meal. You have certainly helped explain a lot. You must get tired of repeating yourself. I've read so many of your posts and the general stuff you type over...

Feeding canned food to conserve water

I do the same as gramakittycat for my kitties for the reason that Canine discusses very well, kidney stones. Having had them myself I cab attest to how painful they are. Also, I've had 2 male cats get kidney stones. One cat I had to tearfully put down after the kidney stone caused cascading...

does a boondocker s%$t in the woods?

Haven't tried those girly devices. Recently when trying out my van by camping with friends to see what I still needed, I used a simple funnel into a container. A quick spray of vinegar & water solution to rinse the funnel & back in the zip lock it went. No issues for me and no mess. Last year I...

What's the class you're writing the research paper for? Soc, law enforcement, urban planning? Also, what's your thesis statement of your research paper?

I've tried to answer my own question but...

OK, I've been over and over this thread. I've written notes and have several pages of questions. I've reread other threads and some of Bob's blog posts as well as other internet blogs. There are to many choices. I still can't determine the pros and con's between a relay, a solenoid and the other...

I've tried to answer my own question but...

Yes, thanks for the reminder. I've thought of using a hot water bottle before but didn't write it down in my notebook so it was lost. It was more for keeping warm but could use it in place of a heating pad also. A good thing to have a number of options, especially when my comfort is dependent on it.

    Storing herbs & spices

Thx for that link. I'm developing an addiction to neodymium magnets & like any excuse to buy more [emoji6] I was thinking of buying up the circular low profile metal containers for spice storage a little at a time as they can be expensive but looking at that link, maybe I'll try to diy...

    The wind is too much

Interesting. For the most part I love the wind. And storms. Always have ever since I was a child. To me its energizing on a soul level. The air is different. My favorite place is @ the beach when a storm is blowing in. Waves crashing, sand blowing. I love it and love to go walking in it. Then I...

750w of solar for $525 in Denver. OR Jimmys new toys.

Good info for me on poly vs. mono for when I buy solar. I'm in PNW and see my share of overcast times throughout the day. I have been reading all your write ups about your experiences and I, for one, am very glad you take the time to write about them. Thank you jimindenver.

    Tipping point

Today I went to pick up from a CL ad some plastic storage bins to put in my van. Right behind the waiting bins was a huge world map with tons of pins and country flags pined to it. I commented on it to the guy & he told me he was lucky his father taught him about debt management. He paid for his...

    Going Green Laundry Efforts

Craigslist is your friend. Highlight that it won't fit in your motorhome, not that you found it hard to use and you should get 75-80% for it. I'd b interested in it eventually as I detest laundry mats but I have a place I can do my laundry locally until I start traveling. Traveling won't be for...

I've tried to answer my own question but...

Yes GC stood for golf cart. Sorry. I thought I was using correct vernacular that I had seen before. I didn't mean to make it more complicated. I typed out a long post last evening & in it mentioned this but when I went to link the hydrometer & voltmeter I ordered off Amazon, my post vanished...

    not so much a food

Never heard that and I thought I'd at least heard about every natural remedy ingredient out there. After the (mild) warnings I know of I never would have thought to ingest it. Gonna have to look into that just because I'm curious.
