    Nor'easter

Thanks y'all. Its a big step from NM to NC. We are definitely getting an education. We are on the Outer Banks and the dunes took a tremendous hit with water washing over in multiple places. Amazing how much money is spent piling that sand back up again. I shall now hear nor'easter and think...

    Nor'easter

Well just finished going through my first three nor'easters in a row in North Carolina on the Outer Banks in a 5th wheel. The first time the park service moved us to a protected area. Second was a tiny one without issue. The third time, last night,we weren't told to move and we should have. I...

    Greetings with absurd question/premise

My wife had a phobia about tall bridges and narrow flyovers. I would take over driving at those times. But as we travel over more unknowns she started to grit it out and do it herself. She's still nervous but she can now cross over without me. Said she reminds herself what great thing is on the...

    FLU and precautions

Human nature being what it is, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that there are folks in Quartzsite who have the flu and have not barricaded themselves away. Kudos to the folks who have. And big big thanks to the folks who are offering to go get medicines and such for the ailing. Looks like...

    Drove into a dust storm...

I went through a Texas dust storm maybe four-five years ago. I had never seen one before and had no idea of the issues involved. I was on a tight schedule and motored through. It was like driving through blowing snow but it made noise. Getting out of it makes darn good sense. Next time...

    FLU and precautions

In S&B. Spouse got sick this morning with the flu. I can't imagine how awful this would be to be in a van without adequate bathroom facilities and room for all the stuff I'm doing to make her comfortable. I know that the RTR is a big deal. Some folks look forward to it all year, plan around...

Wintering at Caballo Lake State Park, NM

I hear ya slow2day. I've got an older van and finding more stuff to fix. I need to tighten down the van's side mirrors which are migrating in as I drive. To do that I have to remove both door panels to get to the mirror mechanisms. I've been putting it off, but suddenly it got much colder...

^Sparky's green chili burger. Baquera's Grocery in Arrey (Right hand side. Almost across from the school) if you don't want to go all the way into Hatch. They also have a free book hutch to the right of the front door. The only place around with non ethanol gas.

Women Only: Safety on the road - sexual assault

She didn't file charges so he can go where he wants, when he wants. Nobody can ban him from the RTR as long as he behaves himself. BTW the guys name was taken off this forum because there will be more than one guy with that name at the RTR. It's important to not paint the other same name guys...

My God, It's Full of Stars!

City of Rocks State Park in NM has star viewing parties in the summer. I'd never looked into a telescope before this last summer. It was awesome.

Vehicle GPS Navigation Units - which ones are best?

I've got a Garmin 50LM and have had it for five years or so. I don't know if the manufacturer has made any big changes over the years. It shows the track the vehicle is taken and after a while my travels around home show a muddle of paths. I can't save or delete individual tracks. To get...

It's beginning to sound like some temporary road signs and CRVL flags would be beneficial.

    BobBski 2017..

Thanks Bob.  Port Aransas and Rockport are the only places that makes me homesick for the ocean.  Looks like not a lot of damage from the hurricane.
