    Travelers Camp Fest

I wish I could. It sounds like a fun trip. Unfortunately I can't travel in the summer. I'll be working straight through from July 5th. to September 7th.

Thanks Matt_Pill! Now, if only had a little more time to actually hit the road and use those mods.

Wanting to purchase a decent Class B RV.

I think one of your early steps should be to get an idea of your wants and needs. Spend a bit of time online researching different RV manufactures and what they offer. Here are a couple of sites with links to manufacturers web sites...

    New from Arkansas

Welcome Smitty716! Arkansas is one of my favorite places to visit. One of my sisters lives in Hot Springs and I try to get out there for a visit every couple of years.

    My Road Tripper

Not a problem ChrisPyle. I wasn't offended. I'm happy to hear any critiques of or ideas for my setup. Who knows? Someone may come up with something I haven't thought of or point out a problem before it becomes something I have to figure out how to deal with. My seats don't go fully flat either...

    My Road Tripper

I've got my house battery in the center between the front and rear seats. When I'm on the road I store my water on both sides of the space. With the containers I use, that allows me to carry 12 1/2 gallons in a relatively out of the way location.

    Craigslist Find

My mom had one of those stoves in her camping supplies when I was a kid. They're fairly simple to use once you get past the learning curve. Just get a metal funnel to make pouring the fuel easier.

    Presteaux!

Welcome Presteaux! Regardless of spelling, the image that entered my mind upon reading your screen name was the character Presto from the old Dungeons & Dragons cartoon I used to watch as a kid.

    Hello from Southern California

Welcome Moonstone Traveler! I'm also in Southern California. I don't full time, but I do like to travel in my little Kia Soul, which has become my ever evolving camper project.

    My Road Tripper

Hopefully yours doesn't pound on the roof like mine did. Fine tuning the thing was a bit of a pain.

    Feces Disposal Method (NOT)

I've encountered something similar at at a few different campsites. One was just a turnout on a forest road near Big Sur in California. There was toilet paper all over the place in the bushes in the area. Another was at a free campground in the Sequoia National Forest. Much like what you...

"At what point does saving a few pennies become absurd?"

    e) You see an ad for an item you need at $5 off. It'll cost you $10 in gas to get there. You can find the item locally for full price. You just paid $10 to save $5.

    thinking about car dwelling...help?

You should definitely take some time to browse the Car thread here and see what other people have done with their smaller vehicles. Here's a link: https://vanlivingforum.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=5 I travel in my Kia Soul, which is significantly smaller than your Subaru Outback and I'm an...

    How many people

I travel in a Soul, but I do it as a solo traveler.  I am also a road tripper rather than a full timer. Still, it's possible that at least some of what I've done with my setup might be adaptable to your needs. Here's my build thread: https://vanlivingforum.com/showthread.php?tid=9848 I'd also...

    New member needing advice

The Rogue should make a decent platform to build out for traveling. It's a fair bit bigger than my Kia Soul, which is my road trip vehicle, but still has the same basic layout. Will you still have a need to carry passengers? If not, you can remove the rear seat for a bit of extra storage space...

How much headroom do YOU need?

I need about 4 inches more than I've got. With my bed set up in the back of the car, I can't sit up without my head hitting the ceiling. If I were to remove the back seat and put in a permanent bed, I'd have the extra room.

I believe Shift Chick identified the vehicle as an Xterra in the original post. Nissan manufactures the Xterra.
