    USB continuous draw?

Thanks.  I'm thinking it's not worth having a "USB" master switch to turn these off when not in use.  I hadn't thought about the gas sensors etc.  Good points.

    USB continuous draw?

This may have been asked before, but it's too hard to search for. I thought I heard somewhere that USB ports draw power even when nothing is plugged in.  Is that true?  Is it noticeable or worth putting on a separate circuit?  Is there any other DC device that draws power when it's not being...

    CPVC water storage up top

Good thoughts.  Thanks!  Maybe cut some 1/4 " plastic into CPVC diameter discs, drill a half-inch hole in the bottom, then couple the sections with the disc between them together with a normal CPVC coupling. What kind of UV blocking coating would you recommend? Jim

    CPVC water storage up top

So which 1 ton would fit in my garage?  The door opening is 81" high.  I don't think the weight is a problem.  Lots of tradespeople put that much weight up top. However, the dynamics (sloshing) are concerning.  Not sure how to manage that.  Maybe break it up into several connected sections, but...

    CPVC water storage up top

My target vehicle is a mini-cargo van (Promaster City, most likely). Reason: fit in my garage, which means keep height low (no more than 7 additional inches up top) and every bit of possible storage space used down below.  So, I've been considering a water storage system that resides on the...

    Promaster City Conversion (picture heavy)

Hi geokite, I really admire your build and would like to connect with you.  I have actually tried emailing you based on your Youtube channel email address, but I couldn't connect. I referenced you in one of my Youtube videos.  Anyway, I'm planning on building a Promaster City and would like to...

    Starting basic design layouts

Hey maki2, I've been looking for someone building cabinets with L-channel aluminum.  See the attached figure.  I have specific questions about how to fasten the pieces together.  Not crazy about bolts or rivets.  I've talked with adhesives experts that say, if done right, these bonds can be...

Anyone done testing on ceramic paints or similar products?

I'm just wondering how much hype is associated with these products.  One company I'm looking at is Synavax.  They claim to be different (better) because they say they achieve thermal isolation (not just reflectivity)  because of the nano-particles in their coating.   So I'm wondering if anyone...

    Building a ProMaster City

Hi all, I'm about to embark on a van building journey with a small cargo van as the target vehicle.  The main reason for this choice is to fit in my garage.  I'm trying to get as much advice as possible before I make solid commitments.   I'm pretty far along in the design, and I'm trying to...
