A informal summer gathering in Flagstaff

Same place as last year, that makes it easy. When and how long do you think you will be there Jim and anyone else?

V6 or V8 in a full-size Chevy Express cargo van?

I have the 2015 Savana (GMC van) with the 6.0L V8 and 6 speed trans. I get about 16 hwy and 14 city. Have been averaging 15 mixed driving. My van also has a high top and 4WD which knocks it down a mile or two on the mpg. I felt the 4.8L wasn't going to improve mileage that much and struggle more...

A informal summer gathering in Flagstaff

I was planning on the summer RTR so I may just as well head out anyway and join whoever shows up.

North East coast vandwellers- RTR anyone (NY?)?

Update on NEVR I have a list of about 6 folks who have PM'd me with their cell #s. I have a location that will handle that and a few more so I'm going ahead with this meetup. A couple days before I'll send out a text with location to those that supplied a number. As with most gatherings...

    Truck Camper Pop Ups

True, I was told the snowmobilers tear apart the outhouses for firewood.

    Truck Camper Pop Ups

I've seen some pretty big rigs cross that dam. If weight limit was a concern I would hope the DEC would have a weight limit sign posted. Don't remember the dates I was there but it most likely included the 16th. Too bad we didn't get to meet.

    Truck Camper Pop Ups

Since you had a double slide truck camper I'll assume you have a 1 ton truck. An Alaskan Camper would probably be the best bet for full timing in for a pop up truck camper. Hard sided, well insulated, well made, plenty of storage, comes in cab over or non cab over configuration. Down side is...

    Solar Eclipse

I plan to be under it, just not sure where yet. As of now I'm thinking Wyoming but if a gathering of the tribe forms somewhere I would be inclined to be there.

North East coast vandwellers- RTR anyone (NY?)?

I camped at Cedar River last October. One of my favorite spots.

There Will NOT be a Summer RTR

My mom is 89 so I take the time to drive to see her every week when I am home. My prayers and thoughts are with you Bob.

    Wrap around windshield cover...

Bob, do these slip over the door to stay on or totally on the outside by magnets? If over the door ever have any water get in during rain storms?

Color of Van Effect on Inside Temp

I worked in the Automotive paint industry for many years. I had a graph showing temperature difference by color. From white to black was a good 40 or more degree difference in temp. Probably more but I'm trying to err on the low side as I don't remember the exact numbers.
