I bought a 100Ah battery recently for my City Express / NV200, but I have no idea where to begin for bolting the battery down. Should I look into housings? How do I know what is safe to screw into?
I bought a maxxair fan for my city express earlier this week only to realize the ribs are too close and I can't install the vent without cutting into the ribs. Are there any alternative vents that are 10" or smaller that y'all go with?
Are there universal screws for these? Do people normally just drill a new hole into the ribs? This is a Chevy City Express 2017, I didn't find anything in the owner's manual.
Thanks for the catch! I should probably estimate colder temperatures than Vancouver.
I'm definitely going to use rain guards, but would I also need a roof vent? My van doesn't have windows in the back, only two in the front, I assumed those would be for intake.
In terms of convection, if you're venting, wouldn't your warm air technically be escaping while sucking in cold outside air?
What kind of vent do you have? Did you place it somewhere else other than your roof?
I bought my van last month, I don't plan to take off until December where I plan to stay in Denver / Breckenridge during the winter when it gets below freezing on a regular basis. I plan on buying either the Mr. Buddy or a Wave 3, but I'm wondering if I need to worry about installing the Maxxair...
This makes sense, perhaps you're right. Bob was suggesting not to insulate for hot weather but surely the fan set on high should evacuate all the heat within a short time. If this is the case, do most not ventilate in the winter?
In the summer, I'll be located in a fairly temperate location, 60s-70s, so at nights, I prefer to cool the van down as quickly as possible, insulation seems to hold on to that warmth for a bit longer so I prefer to live without it.
Have you seen removable panels? I went to the hardware store...
I'm extremely interested in a modular insulation implementation, I'll be camping on the slopes during the winter but returning back to the bay for the rest of the season. I have not yet come up with a solution to remove all my insulation as I prefer a bare shell outside of the cold.
I won't be in any hot weather, but will spend a season in very cold weather.
Only a vent for air conditioning, no plans for boon docking... I don't imagine solar panels work well in winter snow? Is using a quiet gasoline powered generator feasible to keep warm?
I just bought a new 17' City Express, got a great deal on it. Are there any NV200 / City Express drivers here? I'm looking for some suggestions and experience on modifications. I know I need a vent, twin frame, battery and battery isolator. But what else?
My city express came standard with...
I'm wanting to place a twin frame on top of the flooring but I imagine if I laid wood down, I'd have nothing to bolt the frame into? You're right though, it does make sense to keep the rubber mat as winters would be chilly
Just bought a new van, it comes standard with some kind of rubber all weather floor mat with a spongy cushion material underneath. Any suggestion on whether I should open it up to place some insulation? I want to prevent as much heat from seeping in as possible. Or if I should just place some...
I've always wondered why the black lid is considered more stealthy, is it because when extended the white lid sticks out at night?
Also are maxxair fans operational when the lid is completely dropped? Or does it cut off all ventilation?
Hello all, I just purchased a city express a few days ago. Are there any dwellers in the Dallas area? I just signed up for membership at our local makerspace to take classes to learn how and install the modifications I'll want but wouldn't mind to discuss with an experienced camper and view...
