Living/Camping in my Scion xB (2nd Gen)

Welcome here! Do a search for Scion here and on the Youtube site and I'm sure you'll find something. Some people are living out of some very small cars!

Anyone here familiar with British Columbia Provincial Parks?

I don't know about camping on public land but park campgrounds are usually quite busy until school starts in the fall. One trick I learned is to stop early, like around 1:00 pm or so. There are some public rest stops that seem pretty relaxed about the rules. At Craigelachie, for instance, I've...

Best car to sleep in back with no modifications?

I have a 2010 Dodge Journey and its seats fold down almost flat. I do have to fold the front passenger seat down to add a little extra length but I can sleep quite comfortably in there. The surface is a little nubbly but I have a couple of laminate flooring sheets that I lay down between the...

    Air circulation

I have thought of it and would be interesting to hear from those who have tried it.

My Future Modular Cargo Trailer Kitchen

Steam punk! How fun. You will definitely have to post pics when you're done.

    Smart car dweller

This is so inspiring! If she can do it in a Smart car, I should be able to do it in my Dodge Journey. :)

    To Alaska anyone?

I won't be able to drive it this year but I have driven from Calgary to Dawson City in the Yukon. It was one of the most incredible trips I have ever done. The scenery is stunning and there is a LOT of wildlife once you get past Fort Nelson - bison, caribou, bears, you name it. I most definitely...

Thank you! Where was this one taken? Gorgeous grassland view.

Which is safer and more convenient?

Brings back memories of living in northern BC. We had a big outdoor propane tank that had to be wrapped in heat tape and insulation to keep it from freezing up in the winter.

    Newbies in Spokane Washington!!

Welcome, Dan and Elaine! I am just north of you in Vancouver, BC. Fast approaching 60 myself (too quickly, truth be told) and still in the planning stages of my mobile life. Hopefully we'll see each other on the road one day!

I Wrecked my New Van in Oregon

Yikes! Glad you are okay. Don't let this get in the way of your goals. You just learned a good lesson or two, is all. :) When I was about 15 or so I was in a similar car accident and my mom and sisters wound up upside down in the middle of the highway, car spinning wildly. I was lucky to just...

States/Provinces/Cities you DON’T want to visit?

I can be a little fool hardy at times, but now I think I'm curious enough to go see this. (Though I may just go through as quickly as possible...)

    Interested in the journey

Welcome DodgGal. I'm a "Dodge Gal" too! I am also Canadian (Vancouver), almost the same age as you, and have also been bitten by the mobile living bug. Hoping to get my van soon and move out of a very expensive apartment (rent is crazy here!) with my two kittens. Mother of four, grandmother to...

    New to the Forum >^..^<

Welcome BuckeyeKitty! I am in the same situation as you, kinda, downsizing and scheming. I also will be a solo woman with two cats, Mystery and Moonlight. (I think that would be a great title for a mystery novel, no?) I am excited but also a little apprehensive, like you, but I know we'll figure...

OK, I give up. Come and get me IRS!

I wonder if there is a statute of limitations on something like this. If they don't spot their error in seven years or so do you get to keep the money? :)

What's the smallest vehicle you've seen with cats residing in it?

Thanks DL. This also concerns me so I am looking into enclosures and leash training and NEVER leaving them alone outside.

What's the smallest vehicle you've seen with cats residing in it?

StrayCat, you have answered so many of my questions. Thank you for your excellent article! I had no idea about calming collars, calming treats and Feliway. This was a gold mine of information. My dwelling will likely be a more modest Class B unit but I have already planned to make room for a...
