    My Floor Plans

I've been looking at water bladders. There's a 15 gallon version called a "wheelbarrow bag" or something like that. I am pretty sure I can set it up on a rack on the roof (which is fiberglass) if I distribute the weight evenly. If I lined a boxed area with black plastic it would also act as a...

I'm gonna be in so much trouble for asking

Omg.. the double entendre going on there is on point!  :D

    My Floor Plans

Solar batteries will go under the closet and raised platform at the back with the charge controller etc on the closet wall. Put a drawer under the raised platform for the Whynter fridge/freezer to store pots and pans. Overhead storage at both front and rear. Bed lifts to access storage. Can...

GIRLS' ROOM: Goodbye to my clothes

I hear ya! I started dieting back in December and it takes more time now to do my grocery shopping than it did when I was married with a kid! Watching fat grams and sugars along with the calorie count is a pain in the butt, then there's measuring serving sizes. But it's paying off, I've lost...

GIRLS' ROOM: Goodbye to my clothes

Lol! You go, girl!  :P The one thing I found to be most helpful when dieting is something ALL the experts say to do. Allow yourself a little of your favorite foods from time to time. Complete abstinence will make dieting so hard that you end up blowing off the diet.

GIRLS' ROOM: Goodbye to my clothes

That's pretty close. They're clothes I dreamed of buying while I was fighting for Disability after I had to quit driving and had no income for 2 1/2 years. I have kept a couple dresses that I do wear pretty regularly along with the sweats and t-shirts. I'm going to build a hanging closet (cuz I...

GIRLS' ROOM: Goodbye to my clothes

I spent 10 years driving a truck cross country so I know what I'll actually need but getting rid of my nicer clothes is the hard part. I know I won't need them, but still... I'm trying to console myself with the thought that some woman who had to leave her home in the middle of the night with...

GIRLS' ROOM: Goodbye to my clothes

Today I started sorting through my clothes... again. I've pared my closet down 3 times in the last few years and felt pretty good about what I had left but I knew that I had to do some serious reducing to live in a van. I came across a skirt I paid $50 for and wanted to keep it. I thought about...

    It's Happening!

I sold my car! Now I can afford to get the engine looked at/worked on in the van and get this show on the road!!  :D :exclamation:

What Happens When You Become Too Old?

My thoughts, exactly! That's what I've been doing for a number of years and why I bought my van. It's either go traveling or go die at this point.

    WTH?!?

When I ordered the drill I also order a set of screw heads and bits in different sizes.  :D I doubt mine is going to go quicker, I didn't do squat today.

    WTH?!?

Lol! I was looking at my little plastic food storage container that is already full of hardware and thinking I need to get something bigger. And thanks for the sympathy.  ;)

    WTH?!?

My drill/driver arrived yesterday and I started the hardcore tear-down today. I found what you see in the pic below. That, my friends, is a cabinet door hinge being used as a bracket.

How to Insure- Primary Residence or just plain car insurance

So I checked with Foremost and they only insure "professional conversions". Looks like setting up a primary residence and getting renters insurance along with car insurance is going to be the way I go.  :s

How to Insure- Primary Residence or just plain car insurance

While my father was Navy he got a "Less Than Honorable" discharge and I'm pretty sure it still only applies to those who got Honorable discharges.

    Hey Y'all!

I haven't looked it up to be sure but I think my van is old enough ('89) to not have all that computer stuff... and I like that! Seems to me that all that computer stuff tends to be the first thing to go bad and is always high-dollar to fix. I found a garage right around the corner from me...

How to Insure- Primary Residence or just plain car insurance

Isn't that the insurance for Veterans? I don't qualify for them. When I posted this thread it linked me to a thread from 2012 where someone mentioned Foremost, which is the company my insurer partners with. Probably gonna have to talk to them.
