    My Dad died this morning

I'm sorry for your loss. I offer my favorite quote: We're all travellers in this world From the sweet grass to the packing house Birth 'till death We travel between the eternities. Robert Duval, "Broken Trail".

    Solar Panels size

Yes Willie, but you are operating a fridge on your system and you need as much trickle charge as you can get. In the case of those that have their solar system in/on their primary vehicle and keep their heaters and fridges on propane extra panels are just extra panels. A trip to the store or to...

    Solar Panels size

You are quite correct Willy, cloudy days do still charge the batteries but at a reduced rate which is why the end user will most likely be relying on the battery bank.

    Solar Panels size

The main point I'm trying to make here is that once the batteries are fully charged having one large (300 watt) solar panels or even multiple large solar panels is moot as they are only topping up any use the battery bank is using. On a cloudy day you will be relying on stored energy in your...

    I'm Lost!!

That's a good point Willy, If I was going to add a second 95 watt panel I'd want it to be portable for max sun.

    I'm Lost!!

I think I'd only buy a 300 watt solar panel if it was cheaper than a 95 watt panel unless I planned on needing more power requirements. If the latter was so I'd increase my power bank with batteries. 6 volt is best. It can be very easy to over buy.

    I'm Lost!!

Arizonatruck, what are you charging your batterie(s) with? I doubt you will have all your items running off your stored energy all at the same time. It sounds like the desktop tower and monitor won't be a draw. You haven't mentioned a furnace or any heating or refrigeration or fans, water...

    I'm Lost!!

A 245 watt solar panel is 5'6"x 3"4". That is a large solar panel. You don't need one that big. For all your energy needs I would recommend 4 Trojan T150 batteries. The energy comes from your stored power and your stored power is in your batteries. Your batteries will recharge as you drive and...

    I'm Lost!!

Solar is enough to maintain 2 six volt deep cycle batteries IF you have continuous sun. Partial sun is a problem with solar. If it fits your budget, I would get 2 six volt Trojan T-150 batteries, a 95 watt solar panel with charger and a 1500 watt inverter. If your refrigerator runs on LP and...

Good choice, thank you wagoner but I really don't think I have a use for it. Perhaps it would be better suited for someone heading to the Q. Once again, you are a generous man but I must decline. |-]

Quality of Mallard, Outback, Mallard TT's?

The molded fiberglass trailers do not use aluminum or wood supports for strength rather they use the inside shelving and glassed in wall and furniture. The are small no doubt about it but they are meant to be small and are light weight eliminating a large tow vehicle. There are some 21 footers...

Quality of Mallard, Outback, Mallard TT's?

Larry, once again it is important to know what you plan on doing with a travel trailer and how many people will be using it. I would guess that a travel trailer that is 10-15 maybe even 20 yrs old is on its way to being worn out if it is "stick built" (wood structure wrapped with vinyl covered...

Quality of Mallard, Outback, Mallard TT's?

Fiberglass trailers are small, lightweight and stand the test of time. Is the outback you are referring to fiberglass? The stick built trailers leak after a time and rot but they are larger. It's most important to match your trucks ability to towing with the trailers weight...

    Amatuer radio and murs

Breaker...Breaker! Aside from truckers, and I think they use cell phones now, who uses CB Radios? It could turn out similar to buying one walkie-talkie. You wouldn't want to spend money on a technology that's no longer used. If you've got two CB Radios you could always give one away. Then you'd...
