    Hello.. Design phase newbie

Thanks. What size box? There are a few grocery chains around here that have a perfect little van cutaways. Box only sticks out 6 or 8 inches, and maybe a 12 foot box. Overall length is less than 20 feet. Not too high, like a lot of u hauls I see. Basically a extended van, with a bigger square...

How important is interior height to you?

I have a post in conversions and modifications about a pop up shower stall in a reg height van.. Called raised shower stall... Still in the design phase, but pretty workable in my opinion.

    Hello.. Design phase newbie

Aww shucks, thanks guys. It is realisticlly a ways off, but I will be happy to share any ideas I have in the interim. If anyone needs help or advice, I'm happy to assist. If anyone is near Vancouver, and needs some work done , or help, I'm sure I would be happy to do it for free, or beer haha...

Raised shower stall in regular top cargo van

I actually have one of those folding crates haha. Realistically, I will either be getting a small box truck, or a van. Maybe a high top , so this idea may just stay an idea. I will put in a very basic setup at first to see what's really important. I may find a sit down shower more than adequate...

    Hello.. Design phase newbie

Hello. Love this forum. I have been heavily looking into this lifestyle, and every possible vehicle and set up. I am leaning towards a small box truck or van conversion. I want a set up that will allow me to live and work full time, with occasional trips to start. As I am able to save money, i...

Raised shower stall in regular top cargo van

I've researched many sit down options. There are many that are viable. I have long legs and would prefer to stand, and minimize the footprint. As well as having a permanent space for it. When not in use, it could easily contain a few Rubbermaid bins and a bucket toilet , easily moved and...

Raised shower stall in regular top cargo van

Ya, it's just an idea that I thought would be cool. I would like a real shower if possible because I'm planning on working and traveling.. Construction gigs and cooking if need be( I was a chef for a number of years). Going to bed after working in a kitchen without showering is pretty gross...

    expanding shower space

I saw somewhere on the forum here( I think it was this forum haha) about these vertical curved slats that clip onto the curtain rod, and hold the curtain out in a barrel shape. They give you more room where you need it, Around the arms and torso. They had a link, but I can't find the post or...

Raised shower stall in regular top cargo van

The more I think about it, the more I like this idea. Much lighter. The top around the cutout would need a well sealed raised flashing, with a rubber top rim. The overhanging " vent" style lid would have slight tension against the rubber in the stored position, so it didn't rattle during...

Raised shower stall in regular top cargo van

Thanks for the input. I was envisioning something light enough to raise by hand, figuring springs or counterweights would eat up room. Alternatively, the roof cap could sit on four rods, with a fabric shower curtain( shortened) attached to act as the box, with another four foot shower curtain to...

Raised shower stall in regular top cargo van

Hello everyone. New to the forum. I have yet to get a Van/rv, and am deciding which route to go. I'm leaning heavily towards a box truck conversion. I am a cabinetmaker, and have some pretty great ideas for outfitting one. For its own reasons, standard cargo vans have a lot of pluses. Anyway, I...
