Coating/Covering plywood suggestions for my build

I realize my sister will change over time, but I definitely don't want to leave it there as I want to be as still as possible to match the black interior. The other thing about leaving it fair that worries me is what if I spill water inside? I guess that could lead to swelling of the plywood?

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

Hrmm, I guess I was reading a fulltimer's popular blog and they stated it was more than that, but perhaps they have a ton of traffic or they used a lot of widgets or special services?

    Wardrobe & Laundry Survey

Hello, As a guy still in the planning phase I'd like to get a picture of what clothes people have on the road to handle temperatures down to 32F to see if I have enough storage room in my (eventual) vehicle of choice. I'd like to know: - How many jeans, T-shirts, underwear, socks...

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

Ah...makes sense.  To this Sticks & bricks guy who has never been to a laundromat, thanks for the tip!

    October Spending

Hello, I didn't see a line item for cell phones or internet, maybe I missed it?  I worked up my own budget here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eVuv7jnIJfGFBZVLefmcyolG00jj7lT4ZSSbkSBwgHo/edit?usp=sharing) but I'm in the same rat race 1hr North of NYC.  Counting the days.  Haha.  GL!

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

Perhaps better discussed in another thread, but compared to what I tend to eat if left to my vices, and the research I've read about various powdered food sources engineered to meet ~100% of the FDA daily value, and personal blood tests after being on a mostly Soylent diet for 1+ years, and a...

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

Are you using something like Planet Fitness to shower that is paid for outside that $10 / week?  The $10/wk is strictly laundry or you're paying for a shower at a truck stop?

    Ammo Box Wood Stove

I worked with a local fabricator to design and build my own for winter camping trips in negative temperatures: Yes that was a galvanized stove pipe.  Maybe I sucked in some bad stuff, but i burned it for hours on end before getting close to it.  *shrugs* Anyway, my observations from this...

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

Thanks Cheli.  I definitely could do a free wordpress.com blog, but if I got my rear in gear and thought I could make a few bucks in advertising, I'd have to pay for hosting.  I briefly looked here: http://www.interstellarorchard.com/2015/05/26/an-introduction-to-travel-blogging/ for general...

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

Eating a product like Soylent doesn't have me in a supermarket all that often and I wonder if I'll run out of plastic bags for my daily trash / poop needs.  Can you just want into a supermarket and pay 5 cents a bag and purchase nothing else?

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

GREAT observation... perhaps one of the benefits of going bald early in life is that I have not paid for a haircut in 10 years.   :D  These days I use a safety razor and buy razors for <$0.10 a razor that shave my face and head a few times before needing replacement.  It's one thing I think is...

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

I budgeting for loads of laundry, but not laundry detergent.  I'm not sure if I can fit it in my RAV4 (anyone tried the Tide pods?  Is there an alternative?) or what the cost of small packets of detergents at laundry mats would be?  Never done it. I don't believe I'll need propane as the engine...

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

Thanks for having a look.  I currently live off Soylent (a powder meal replacement) and salads, so I'm hoping I can continue with the same with no need for cooking or refrigeration.  As for heating, the Toyota Hybrid vehicles have this thing called "ready Mode" where the car kicks on the engine...

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

As for Affordable Care Act costs, the cost depends on the amount of subsidy you receive, and the amount of subsidy you receive depends on the income you either make from working or from retirement accounts you draw on.  So if I really want to live it up, and draw big income, then your subsidy...

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

By nature, I always try to spend less than I have as a head game of sorts.  I guess I am just being overly cautious.... leaving your job is a pretty big decision afterall.  :P

New Budget Spreadsheet, what'd I miss?

Here it is I've been asking friends who live the traditional sticks and bricks life, as well as nomadic lifestyle to have a look and give feedback on my budget as I've never been on the road to know where costs really stand: - Line items I may have completely missed. - Line items I may be off...

The perfect monthly income for full time RVing

Would you mind detailing what you eat for $80 / month?  I think I could do it, but not with healthy foods.  Thanks!

How to curb your old friend's enthusiasm when you visit.

When you are on the road visiting friends from yesteryear (family, high school / college friends, old coworkers) on the road, how do you convey to them "Hey, it's great to see you, but I can't go out for dinner or a night on the town all the time as it blows my budget?" There are TONS of...

    WHat's your traction-adder solution?

In the Northeast with plenty of trees I could see that working well.  Out in the desert though?  What do you anchor to?
