    C-PAP ?s

I also get my supplies every three months and I don't get through all of them, but for me the key things is the mask. It really has to be changed out every few months because after a while the soft bits that form to my face start to lose elasticity and gain a greater tendency to leak. Most of...

Inverter wiring / hot water heater

I've been considering an electric on-demand water heater for my van, but I took one look at the specs and asked my GF of she was OK with only having hot water when the engine or the generator are running to generate the power for it. The amount of power it takes to heat water is enormous. I...

    US health insurance and CPAP

Yeah, they've been doing the tracking for quite some time. Something like 80% of people prescribed CPAP machines can't adjust to using them and are non-compliant. Insurance companies are desperate to claw back some of the money spent on the machines. Personally, I would take the modem off of the...

    Layouts

I have a Promaster and I sleep sideways, but the Promasters are more than 72" wide. If you've got only 72" in total width, unless you don't insulate at all, I don't see how you're going to do it. I'm curious about the one you like that you're looking at. Do you have a link?

    Dodge Ram Promaster Conversion

Congratulations on your new van. I went with a Promaster as well, though of the 136" WB length and am still in the process. I'm glad it's going so well for you though.

    2018 Promaster 136" HT Build

Love your proposed layout. I'm also building out a Promaster 136" and my layout is not too different from yours, though I have a row of passenger seats in front of the bed. How has the build been going? I also wanted to use 80/20 but decided that, for the price, it was much cheaper to just use...

Seeking someone with Electrical skills in MA

I've thought about doing that. In fact, if I could get away for it, I probably should have gone to the Van Build out in AZ that's happening pretty much now. Unfortunately, the drive each way would keep me away for thanksgiving and I have family obligations.

    Vermont/New Hampshire to AZ

I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to make the trip this year, but if I do, I'll be driving from MA and wouldn't mind company, especially of the experienced variety. :)

    Buying a 2018 Promaster 1500 - NOT high top tomorrow …

I have had my Promaster 2500 136wb high roof for about two months now and I'm very happy with it. I second what everyone is saying about getting a high roof. Do it. It's worth it, both in overall space in in getting around the van. Also, I suggest strongly that you look at a 2500 rather than a...

DIY awning with no roof rack?

Now that is something I would like to have seen.

DIY awning with no roof rack?

I was thinking about the 300#+ industrial magnets with release mechanisms. I figure if they won't hold, no magnet will. :)

Just got an interesting solar quote

Because I can drain it down a lot farther than any of the lead acid batteries, it's the equivalent of twice the capacity in SLA. 300ah should be enough for everything I need that doesn't require the generator.

DIY awning with no roof rack?

I've been thinking a lot about this myself. I was thinking about two tent poles, a large tarp, and some very strong magnets to attach the whole thing to the van. Another thought was one of those pyramid-shaped canopies that are often quite inexpensive and pack down small. I was considering...

Seeking someone with Electrical skills in MA

I'm trying to find an electrician to do my solar and DC build and I'm having trouble finding someone who won't charge an arm and a leg and who will do this small a job. While I could pick up the skills I need to do it myself, I'm not physically capable of doing the install and really needs...

Just got an interesting solar quote

    It's a 300ah LFP battery. That's why it's so pricey.

Just got an interesting solar quote

I do not. Right now I have no electrical system but that which came with the cargo van. I bought an inverter. My shore power inlets are coming any day now. Other than that, I've got nothing.

    Solar quote lol

I've not had a lot to contribute here because I'm not really an expert in this area, but you should know that you're not the only one that's banging their head against the wall over their electrical system. Stay strong. :)

Just got an interesting solar quote

Which video did he say not to buy batteries or inverters? I must have missed that. Was it just because you could get better deals or better batteries through other sources?  My initial quote, minus the battery, and not including the extra charging hardware was pretty close in price to what...

Just got an interesting solar quote

I *think* I can fit a second 300w panel on the roof so I told them to make changes to the quote to reflect a second panel and a larger MPPT controller. That hopefully will be coming tomorrow.  The promaster is 65.something" wide at the roof so the panels should be able to sit across the roof...
