2001 chevy cavalier 154k miles needing new or rebuilt engine, needing advice....

They said there was a crack in the engine block at the bottom and fixing the head gasket will push the leak from the reservoir through to the bottom of the engine block and will add pressure and make the crack bigger and cause more issues and the car isn't worth investing another 3k plus dollars...

2001 chevy cavalier 154k miles needing new or rebuilt engine, needing advice....

The leak is going into the top of the engine block a new head gasket would make the seal tighter and make the piston combustion stronger and put more pressure on the engine block then what the engine is used too and push the water leak to the bottom of the engine and basically cause a bigger issue.

2001 chevy cavalier 154k miles needing new or rebuilt engine, needing advice....

I took the car to a few mechanics they all said with the car having 154k miles it wasn't worth the money for a new engine which would cost about 3k after labor. then the tranny was about to go out too.  so it just wasn't worth it.

2001 chevy cavalier 154k miles needing new or rebuilt engine, needing advice....

I just bought a 2001 chevy cavalier for 2 thousand dollars found out I needed to replace the engine because the head gasket is blown and if I replace the head gasket for about 2k it would put pressure on the bottom of the engine and could crack the bottom of the engine. So I may need a whole new...

Realistically. How much would it cost per month to?

No pets, and that is my last pit of budget with 500 left. That is 45 cell phone, 20 to wash clothes on each week or every other week when I go to town. 20 for a gym membership to take a real shower when I am in town. 30 for thyroid meds, 50 every two months for my vitamins. Insurance will cover...

Realistically. How much would it cost per month to?

Thanks akrvbob, I got to find these camp sites in NM that have tent camping since I only have a car and no truck or rv or van. So I would be in a tent and would need to find ones that are okay with tent camping.

Realistically. How much would it cost per month to?

I can only use my food stamps in Texas and when they reevaluate my case for foodstamps next year I will not be on them. Also you mentioned buying a pass in NM I could stay 8 months out of a year there, does that mean just boondock or basically live in that one spot for 8 months for a total of...

Realistically. How much would it cost per month to?

I have 200 a month in foodstamps as long as I stay in Texas. so the food would be covered here. As for camping on the gulf that wouldn't bother me even during the summer, my question is where on the gulf because all the beaches now don't allow camping.

Stealth park or boondock in Texas each month, no credit card bills no other debt but cell phone, car insurance medication which comes to a total of $235.00 out of the $755.00 a month. Is it doable? Stealth parking with money left to save or even with boondocking?
